This Chick is Back. . .

Hello my friends.  I’m happy to say that this chick is back in town.  I missed visiting all of you!

After a week long wonderful Caribbean Cruise let’s just say, I’ve got my work cut out for me.  You know, laundry, cleaning, yard work, and the list goes on.

I’m also getting ready to help host a bridal shower at my home on the 16th.  But I just had to take time to share my chicks with you.  I intended to share them in my Bunnies and Chicks post.  When it got a bit lengthy I decided I’d share the chicks when I returned.

Many of you have your brood of real chicks.  I think they are ever so sweet, but for now these are the only kind of chicks you’ll see at the Olson home.

I think baby chicks are one of the cutest animals.  Have you ever been lucky enough to actually see one hatch from an egg?

DSC00901

And I’m not even going to ask if you’ve ever seen one perched on a cupcake.

DSC00904

However I’m sure you’ve seen one traipsing through grass.

How about party chicks?  After all, they are animals!

This fuzzy chick traveled all the way home with me from Salzburg over 10 years ago.

I love this box that I received in an Easter spoolie swap last year.

I rarely run across vintage Easter décor.  So when I spied these two egg holders a couple years ago I had to snatch them up.  Soon they will be sporting pretty colored eggs.

And of course, there ‘s always  at least one crazy chick in the bunch.

Well, there you have it.  My small collection of chicks.  I do have a few cute ducks.  Who knows, they might just waddle their way into a post before Easter.

We didn’t take a ton of pics on the cruise.  I’m hoping that  I will have some good enough to share with you.

It’s always such a delight to come home and find that you were featured at a blog party when you  were away.  Thanks to Kathy from  A Delightsome Life for featuring my Vintage Lace and Easter  at her Home and Garden Thursday party.

hugs,

Jann

I will be sharing with these lovely parties:

Cute post. I always go to the local farm center during "chick" week, just to see and hold the tiny chicks they sell. Unfortunately we can't have chickens.

Hope you had fun on your trip.

Blessings

Jann, The chicks are adorable. The laundry after cruising is plenty. I think we should be allowed to throw it all overboard upon arrival to shore. xoxo,Susie

I have a crazy chick like yours!! I am drawn to the little chicks...but I didn't even buy one thing this season. Aren't you proud of me??

Welcome back!! Those chicks are all so cute. I've always wanted a flock of real ones, and have come very close to getting them...until I think of trudging through the snow to take care of chickens in the bitterly cold winter. That usually brings me back to reality pretty quick. And yes, I've actually watched a chick hatch. I managed to hatch two turkey eggs on top of an old TV (the kind that stayed warm when it was plugged in).

What a great collection of chicks. I did get to see them hatch in the 6th grade. It was amazing and adorable.

Adorable! I have been focusing so much on bunnies that I overlooked the cute chicks. Saw some at 60% off at JoAnn Fabrics today and I didn't get them!!

I knew that you were going on a cruise and then last week the news was full of some cruise that had many many passengers falling ill and I kept hoping that it was not YOUR cruise. Sounds like yours was fine / so glad :)

Adorable, each one! When I was a child, stores sold baby chicks in various colors, it was common to get these for Easter. I think it sounds cruel now, but we loved those little chicks. They didn't live with us long before they were given to an uncle who had a farm. We also got live rabbits at Easter.
Thanks for sharing these cuties. Fun to see the different ones at your house. '-)

So glad that you had a fab time on the cruise! It always feels wonderful to be home though:) Love your chicks - is the carrot made of hydrangea blossoms?

Happy Easter my friend!

Cute chicks, Jann. I have seen live chicks hatch. My mother raised chickens on our farm when I was growing up, so I saw lots of baby chicks peck their way out of eggs. They are really cute. ~ Nancy
