Smash Blast!

Hello my friends, I am knee deep into Christmas decorating.  Having so much fun, but before I dove into it I had a blast creating pages for a Christmas 'Smash' book with some friends.

Not sure what a smash book is?  Basically it's a small scrapbook that you just 'smash' anything you want onto the pages.
We are going for a vintage feel and leaving spaces on half of the pages for a photo.

I thought I'd take a break from all of the Christmas madness, :)  and share the pages we've created so far.

This is the first page I made.  As you can see it contains an assortment of random things that I love. (vintage postcard, old buttons, jingle bells, and a clock image)

This sweet bird themed page was created by Joanne, a local friend I met through Instagram.

Here is a second page by Joanne.

There are four of us working on the book.  We are each going to design 4 double sided pages and then create the same ones for each other.  We will end up with 16 double sided pages.  My sister in law is joining in the fun, but she is living in NC.  She will create her pages at home and bring them when she comes for Christmas.  She does amazing work!

Paula from Pollyanna Reinvents was on a roll and created these next three.

These next three were created by me.  You can see that some of them are very simple, leaving space for a photo.

The darling little angel card was sent to me last year by my blog friend, Rose.  She received it as a child from her grandma.
Isn't it precious?

Creating Smash pages is so much fun!

How did this come about?  Joanne and Paula had seen the Witches guide book that my sil and I made a few years ago and asked if we could make a Christmas one.

(My witches guide book.  If you want to see the pages, visit Paula
She shared some of them on her blog)

Paula and Joanne are the ones that started referring to them as smash books.  I had heard the term before, but didn't think of it till they mentioned it.  I thought I was making a guide book for Santa.  lol!

Happy Holidays!
hugs,
Jann

Jann, that looks like SO much FUN!! I do hope you share when it is finished and filled with wonderful photos!! I like the idea of having each person make 4 pages, truly a combined effort which makes it all the more special! Enjoy! Blessings, Cindy

Love them. I'm doing something similar. Making a book of illustrated scripture for my daughter for Christmas. After doing the scripture I'm deocorating 'smash book' style. I loved seeing yours. Lots of inspiration!

I keep telling myself that I will make the time to do paper crafts, but it isn't happening. Maybe once I get all my photos taken for the Christmas Link Party I will have some time.

What a great idea!! Several years ago, I found a Christmas scrapbook that had pre-decorated pages, all you had to do was add your photos! It was super easy to complete and I put it together for my mom. I used photos of her grandkids through the years. Everyone loved it, including Mom. I've never seen another one but, thanks to you, I can make my own and have it ready for a special occasion or give as a gift. You have the best ideas!! Z

I love doing this and I have been so busy with decorating other things I need to stop and work on some Smash pages?
love your post card page with the music paper and button and bell
Then really love the red and white page with the round Santa picture.

Oh and how could Rose give you such sweet card from her Grandma? I am such a sentimental person when it comes to my Grandma I want everything of hers.
