I have had this iron gate for some years now. My daughter gave it to me for Mothers Day.
Her hubby worked for Wadman Construction and he got 3 or 4 of these when they tore down homes to build a Wal-mart. They actually were at the windows of a home that did iron work.
Another reason why I am not a Wal-mart lover! Ya know, the tearing down of homes. I guess I should be, otherwise I wouldn’t have this iron.
It’s been leaning here against the opening of our future fire pit. I’m sure that it was anxiously waiting for me to do something with it.
I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to paint it red or green.
Well today I pulled it out and decided to get er done!
I found that I was out of red spray paint, so green it is.
I may use it as a gate in the future, but for now; I stuck it up on one of my garden beds above the rock wall.
This delphinium is really short. Worked great by the iron. I love the blue with the green. Mr. hollyhock will cover a lot of it later, I’m sure.
I bought these keys at Tai-Pan. Regularly $30 for $12. They are really heavy. They were a bit to orangey so I sprayed them with a little more black.
Heather, from Very Heatherly mentioned that they would be cute in the garden.
I knew exactly where I wanted to hang them.
Don’t worry, the garden gate is never locked. Guest are always welcome. In fact, I get down right excited when someone comes to see the garden.
