Country Whites. . .

Last weekend hubby and I headed to farm country in Idaho.  If you’d like to read about it visit here: http://www.jannolson.blogspot.com/2013/03/farm-country.html

The first night we stayed in Pocatello.  The next morning we hit a few thrift and antique stores.

It wasn’t until I was cleaning everything up that I noticed that almost everything I bought was white.

I think I was thinking about the Country Whites party at my friends Dru and Cindy. The Country Farm Home and Old Time Farmhouse.  Happy to be partying with them!

I found this refrigerator vegetable tray at an antique store for $14.  I have a hoosier cupboard that I will be using down stairs.  The top is white enamel with blue trim.  Won’t this be fun filled with onions in my cupboard?  The word vegetables is the perfect shade of blue.  I picked up the funnel because my friend, Carlene  (Organized Clutter) made the cutest  funnel Christmas tree . Think I might need to make one next year.  I now have three funnels.

Four white speckled enamel bowls for $5.  One is chipped, but that just makes me love it more!

IMG_0433

And this hob nail lamp for $4.  The shade will be a goner, but love the base!

I wasn’t sure what this little white thing was used for but it was Fire King and only $.75

IMG_0437

One never knows when a piece of gingerbread trim might come in handy.  $6 at an antique store.

My favorite country whites is this seltzer bottle.  I have been wanting one so I knew that they were a little pricey.  This one set me back $22.  Not too bad.  The words are wearing off, but of course; I love it just the same!

Now this was my best deal of the day.  Hubby stopped for me to take a picture.  I decided to walk down the road a little ways and this rusty white was laying on the side of the road.  Not sure what it is, but have fun plans for it!  Hubby said I was a ‘psychic picker’ because I had him pull off in just the right place.  Ever see that episode of American Pickers?

IMG_0434

This item is not white, but the little dress I’ll be showing is.  I have plans to hang this retractable clothesline in the kids play area.  Hope my vision turns out as cute as I imagine it to be!

Love the smocking!

There you have it, a whole lot of ‘Country Whites’ in one weekend.

I really didn’t plan it, just worked out that way.

One country white I was on the look out for was a primitive sheep.

Only ones I found were these.

I want a couple to sit on top of an old cupboard.  I would’ve brought these home if I thought they would have stayed there. Hee-hee!

hugs,

Jann

Love the seltzer bottle. I never ever see them. I would have picked up the vegetable dish for sure. The funnels are perfect in the garden too!

What a perfect weekend! And, what an incredibly nice hubby you have. Those sponateous trips sometimes seem to be the best. I absolutely love all the 'Country Whites' you found, but I think my favorite would be the clothes line, O' that is going to be so fun. Thanks for dropping by my blog today, I did leave a little comment on where I linked up to your fun party.

Some great finds, Jann. I love the blue/white vegetable crisper. I have one that I use to store candles in. Nothing like that cobalt blue.
That little handled Fireking is a ramekin I believe and was used for soup (baked French onion)most often. You did good!!!! xo Diana

I have a soft spot for whites too. I'm always on the look out for ironstone pitchers.

Jann, I'm loving the look of the blog. I am madly working on updating my blog page, but I get so overwhelmed with choices, LOL. You've kept yours nice and simple and I love it.

Not long ago I bought the same clothesline and haven't got it hung yet. I'd say white is going to be a big theme for you for the next while!

Love whites. All of it looks gorgeous.

Jann, did you miss my message that you won the Peter Rabbit storybook tags? I stopped by early last week and commented in one of your previous posts, but never heard back from you. If you are still interested, please let me know. If not, please let me know either way so that I may choose someone else.
Thanks so much, dear.
Have a beautiful day.

I think I am going to steal your idea for the stacked funnel Christmas tree. Next Christmas I am going to do a rustic country theme...I've been vintage for too many years. I need a change and it gives me a reason to craft all year for it...lol! I always enjoy your "adventures!"

What neat things! I love them all. I believe your roadside find is a hubcap/wheel cover. The small openings look like where the lug nuts would be, but that's just a guess. Great finds, all!
