Hello my friends, today is Sunday. The day that I like to look back and reflect upon what has occurred and what I have or haven’t accomplished during the past week.
I’m sure many of you are like me and set goals weekly. I’ve never been one to write them down, but I have a mental list in my head. Afraid to admit, that’s not all I have going on in this crazy head of mine. lol!
Last week was a good week. . . spent some time with family and friends. On Saturday two of our grandies spent the night. Hubby and I took them to dinner and a movie.
Friday I got a hair cut (mostly just a trim) and found a few treasures all in the same day. Doesn’t getting a hair cut always make you feel good? When I was just walking out the door to go get my hair cut I got a text from my hairdresser, asking me to be 15 minutes late. Perfect opportunity to stop off at our local D.I. (thrift) store.
I found this cute purple and white teapot with the tea party on top. I knew it would be so cute with my tea party topped creamer I found thrifting 2 years ago.
When I pulled it out of the sack I noticed that the teapot handle on the lid was broken. How did I not notice that? I probably would not have bought it. I twisted a piece of purple ribbon, added a little purple flower and created a handle of my own. Not perfect, but better than nothing. Hubby thought it was kind of cute.
I also found this great chair for only $15. Tomorrow it will be painted mustard yellow. It’s sturdy and I loved the ornate detail on the top.
Did you notice the sweet paper Mache floral basket hanging on the chair?
Darling purchase from my hairdresser. She has a little store in her shop and has just restocked it. Isn’t it lovely? The basket came from an old local florist. Of course it’s her added touches that make it so darn cute!
Sweet little bottle filled with dried yellow roses came from her also. I just noticed the price tag is still on the bottom. My purple teacups were another thrift find years ago.
Last week I received a package in the mail from a dear blog friend from Musings, Meanderings, and Merriment from Rose . She is an amazing poet. There are lots of items that I will be showing later, but this gorgeous pillow case was amongst the goodies. It was a little yellowed so I thought I might just use the crochet edge on something else. After soaking a few hours in Biz it came out wonderful white! Rose is so sweet (sweet as a Rose you might say) and sent these to me for no reason. She saw a post I did Country Whites and the next thing I knew she was telling me that a box of whites was on it’s way.
Hubby and I worked in the garden and I got a few things planted and the roses trimmed. I tried a couple new recipes that we both really liked. I also painted a little cabinet I’ll be sharing later.
I picked out granite remnants for my basement kitchen island and bathroom (antique dresser) cabinet. Progress in the basement came to a halt last week, but there’s alot on the agenda for this week.
Not a good picture, but you can see that we are getting a new sidewalk and porch step. Ours had settled and pulled away from the porch and drive way. It will be nice to have it fixed.
All in all it was a good and productive week! Sure, I have places that I need to improve. Reading my scriptures is definitely one of them. But we all know, practice makes perfect! I just need a lot of practice!
hugs,
Jann

Wow- such treasures, how wonderful!
I hope you are enjoying your sunday. The sun finally came out and we have the windows open for fresh breezes..and my hubs is actually mowing the lawn for the first time this year.
I didn't realize it needed it, but I guess he did!
Lots going on at the nest keeping me busy, some home changed making me irritable and uncomfortable - can't wait till they're all done so I can get back to being settled and calm again.
All things good and a blessing- just taking much much longer than expected.
Hugs.

I ♥ your new header!!
The little teapot with the tea party lid is really cute. The chair is going to paint up beautifully with all the detail. I can't wait to be able to join in sprucing up the yard. This winter is going to be one for the record books. Lots of snow and very slow melting.
Whew sounds like a busy but productive week. I love all your great finds-so many special ones. That chair will be beautiful painted.
Have a good week.

Hi Jann,
Everything you found is lovely. What a darling tea pot and that chair will be fabulous painted.
Love the pic with the chair full of your treasures. Have fun.
Hugs, CM
I had been so afraid to wash the times as thought they would disintegrate. I am amazed to see the pillowcase so white! I know you will make wonderful things with the items. The dresses are 60 yrs old.
I absolutely love that chair. Painting it will certainly bring out the detail. It looks so neat with all your pretties on the seat.
My hubby, who is sitting with me at breakfast, asked me why I kept glancing up. I did this two or three times. He was curious. I was looking at my teapot on the high ledge in the kitchen. It was my teapot, exactly like yours. I too, think it is adorable and I purchased mine at a consignment shop.
You surely had some great finds.
Blessings, Ginger
So many lovely things Jann! Your green cake plate has me drooling. :) Pam
