Hello my friends,
just popping in to say 'hi'. First day of our vacation and let me tell you, I am in Dogwood heaven!
If you've ever been to the Carolinas this time of year you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Their billowing branches are everywhere along the freeway and gracing almost every home and business. Isn't both this tree and house gorgeous?
I shared this photo on Instagram and fb and a friend said this:
"The dogwood, the tree of the Savior. Each blossom has three rust spots for the nails in his hand, and the other petal is for his head.
I had never heard this before. Now I will look at the gorgeous dogwood and see it in a different light.
We visited The McGill rose garden in Charlotte. The roses were just starting to open, but we saw a few other lovelies.
Here they are from A to D. (just happened to work out that way) :)
Amazing Azaleas
Blooming Bike
Coral Cutie
Delicious Doors.
Now I know my ABC's (at least the first four letters), tell me what you think of me.
hugs,
Jann

I love dogwoods for their beauty and symbolism. Mine is just budding and hasn't bloomed yet. You are definitely ahead of us...
That dogwood tree is so beautiful, Jann! We may get more snow here on the front range of Colorado tomorrow, so I won't be seeing blooms anytime soon. Enjoy the sunshine and your vacation!
Beautiful...the dogwood trees are blooming here now. It is so pretty to see them along the sides of the highway here.

Dogwoods bloom here in Portland too (I think they're a couple of weeks away yet) and I agree - they're my favorite!
Beautiful trees and blooms. Enjoy your vacation! Thanks for the story of the dogwood! Blessings, Cindy xo

Ooooh.....love that house and those beautiful trees. Have a wonderful holiday!
You're absolutely right about spring in North Carolina.
We moved here from Michigan in 1983 and fell in love with this place almost right away. Enjoyed your photos. It's another sunny day here. Seeing our beautiful state through your eyes made me appreciate it even more! Have a most blessed and abundant day.
Beautiful photos! Enjoy your vacation!!
Looks like you are enjoying your vacation Jann. So glad you are having some time to enjoy life my friend. I love the dogwoods and you are right...they are plentiful in the Carolina's. We used to visit Franklin NC a lot (when my husband'a parents owned a place there) and everywhere there was beauty. Just seems those dang Carolina people can grow anything! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
I didn't know this about dogwood also. Beautiful tree. I'm not sure if they grow in my region. I will certainly look into it.
Thanks for sharing
Welcome to Spring in the South Jann. Hope you are having a wonderful trip!
Steve and I don't have many states left to visit, but the Carolinas are high on our list. I have always wanted to visit and it looks like you chose a nice time of year.
Beautiful about the dogwood! I did not know that! Thanks!
I bet it is glorious! Do they have a scent? Everything is blooming here, too.
I didn't know that about the Dogwood blossom. How wonderful. All things testify of Him. Have so much fun!

Gorgeous!! I'm jealous - I have a dogwood in my front garden and I have to dig it up and give it away this spring - it won't bloom, it's just too cold here!
Beautiful Jann! Dogwoods are so pretty and I loved what you told us about the blooms and Christ.
Have a wonderful vacation!
I also love the Dogwoods and they have a lot in Virginia also. I also like the red bud trees.
Looks like you are enjoying your vacation to the Carolina's. This is the perfect time to go before it get to hot and humid.
Enjoy your vacation and take lots of pictures.
Hugs,
Mary
