I’m starting the party early today because my sister and friend are coming up from down South for a visit.  Might be off gallivanting!

Jeanette from Creating a Life Now showed us her wonderful summer dining room.

And to help us stay cool Dawn from We Call it Junkin shared three naturally flavored waters.  The vintage containers make them even sweeter, wouldn’t you agree?

This last feature isn’t so much about summertime, but I thought it was an incredible reuse project shared by Naush from  Doodle Buddies.  She created this out of an old pizza box.

Playhouse Ideas

I always consider it an honor when someone notices something I have done and asks me to help out.

 

I was more than happy to say ‘yes’ when Liz e-mailed me saying that she liked our Playhouse Under the Stairs and asked if I would  be the curator and create a ‘Playhouse’ board for Hometalk.

 

Years ago we created a playhouse for our youngest daughter, Kylee.

I don’t know who had more fun decorating it. . .her or I.

 

Last year we finished our basement and I felt like a kid again turning the space under our stairs into a playhouse for the grands.

 

This board is full of some very cute and creative ideas.

Garden Goodies. . .

Hello and happy Sunday!
Today I am going to show you some of what I call my  ‘Garden Goodies’.


Objects in the garden that help make it more interesting. (Some things you may have seen before in another post).

In early Spring they are very visible.  By summer many are buried amongst blooming perennials.  Some I can’t even see.  But it’s always a nice change when the flowers are cut down and a new garden goodie is discovered.

My mushroom collection.  I just got the set of three yesterday. . .SWEET!

 

I’m thinking my leaf birdbath is in need of a new coat of paint.

The impatiens in my milk crate got nipped by frost and are just coming back.  By summer they will be flowing over the sides.

I’m laughing because this is my fairy garden without the fairies.  I haven’t been able to find them. I have a crawl space under my sewing room and they are hiding in there somewhere. lol!

Whew!  I never really realize how many ‘garden goodies’ I have until I start putting them all together.  This doesn’t even include all of them.  Some I have shown in my garden room posts and some I will share in future posts.  And again, some are hidden amongst blooms.

Having a BALL with Daisies. . .

I know that I had planned on sharing my ‘outdoor bath’ with you for my next post.
But sometimes, I just gotta switch things up a little. lol!
I have been anxiously waiting for my Daisies to bloom so that I could share this sweet little wool table runner that I recently completed.

I love wool, aqua jars, and Daisies so when my friend, Amanda offered to share this pattern with me I was elated!  It was a small candle holder so I took it to a copy shop and had it enlarged to make a runner.

I have been waiting for my Daisies so that I could pick a little bouquet to go in one of my vintage ball jars and place in the center of the runner.
Last night myself and a few friends attended a local garden tour.  One of the homes had feverfew blooms in a jar.  My sis said, “Don’t you have these little Daisies”?.  Immediately I thought, why wait?


I picked a few extra blooms to share with my sis and placed them in an enamel German pitcher I bought at an estate sale yesterday.
Why not sit them in the living room next to my cute thrift find Daisy plate until I give them away?

Although they aren’t Shasta Daisies, they still are so sweet!


I love the rustic chippy look of this pitcher.  However, I really debated whether or not to buy it.  Loved it, but it was not cheap.  I dished out $40 for this.  When I questioned the lady in charge of the estate sale as to why it was so much, she said because it was from Germany.  I had to tell myself, “if you want it, buy it”!  I often have to remind myself that this is Utah and vintage items are not as inexpensive here.  Don’t often find the bargain prices that some of my blog friends in other states do.

Lastly, I had to play a little with my Daisies outdoors on a rustic bench I bought at a yard sale last Sat. for $15.  The bench found a new home out on my front porch.


It’s easy to see that I really was having a ‘ball’ with my new runner and Daisies!

Each week I find a smile on my face as I discover all of the wonderful things that you have to share.  Lots of diversity and I love that about this party!

The last few days have felt more like March.  Torrential rain yesterday and this morning I awoke to a garden that looked more like a jungle.  More about that in an upcoming post.

I have been so busy the last week and a half.  Attending both home and garden shows.  I have lots of wonderful inspiration that I will be sharing with you!

Stacey’s dining room is gorgeous even if it does have spiders. lol!  Must visit Poofing the Pillows to know what I am talking about.

Babs from Upstairs Downstairs shared her outdoor bakers rack decorated three ways.  This was my favorite!

How creative is this flag made from book spines by Catherine from Ornate Splendor?

This girl loves to eat and I always have a hard time picking just one food feature.  I thought this Chicken Club Sandwich with homemade Caesar dressing shared by Deborah from The Beautiful Matters was the perfect summertime meal!
