My Heart Bleeds for You. . .Outdoor tea

Oh what a beautiful day for an outdoor tea for Saydee and Me!

IMG_0767

Beautiful bleeding hearts spill from a bud vase and my new found teapot with the roses is right at home in the garden.  I found it at a thrift store for $5.  Notice Saydee has her own little tea pot?

I have three of these sweet salad plates.  Mixing patterns is always so fun!

We hear birds chirping and tiny puffs of white from the Cottonwood trees flurry by every now and then.

A robin hopped along on the lawn and Saydee squealed with delight.

Grandma loses herself amongst the pages of this beautiful book.  I picked it up at D.I. (thrift) for $2.  I have now added, New Jersey as a ‘must ‘ place to visit.

Never too early to teach a lady the etiquettes of tea time.

Saydee loved the little trailing hearts, but of course she wanted to know if they smelled, ‘purdy’!  Alas,  “gramma, they smell like dirt.”

She couldn’t decide which teacup to use.  The pink and green set and the red and blue tray I found last Fall at an estate sale.  The blue melamine cups I just picked up at a thrift for 50 cents each.  My friend, Peggy spied them and knew I would want them for the little cupboard that will soon be under the stairs.  Wonder if she knew that I had a tray that matched perfectly?

Saydee chose this cup for me.

Berries and tea, how sweet could this be?

I love your Grandma/Granddaughter tea. I had a bleeding heart that died one winter ago when there was NO snow. Last year it would have been fine.

What a sweet tea party with your precious Granddaughter! How fun!! Your pretty teapot was such a good find! Love your bleeding hearts! Mine are only about 4 inches high. It's been very cold here with light snow! Have a wonderful week and enjoy your warm weather!

What a darling your Saydee is! How fun sharing tea together. I love the mismatched tea service and especially Saydee's darling teapot. I never find pretty things at our thrift stores around here, but I sure love yours! I do have good luck at our m they Trade Days, though.

You're a good grandma teaching your young granddaughter how to host a pretty tea party. I have nice memories of the same thing when ours were little.

How lovely to see the bleeding hearts. Mine didn't survive the winter so this gives me a good excuse to go out and buy another plant! Have a great week. Chel x

What a lovely treat to have tea with your granddaughter. Nothing better, is there?
I am crazy about your "new" teapot. Mismatched dishes always makes things more fun and interesting.
You are making great memories for Saydee to have forever.
