Mr. Raven, Are You Behavin?

Today I stopped into Smiths Market for a few groceries.  I took a stroll down the Halloween aisle.  Can’t wait to show you what caught my eye.

The minute I saw him I knew he’d be perfect for my vintage birdcage.

I think I’ll name him Edgar, after Mr. Poe.

I bought my cage at an antique shop in Idaho.  My hubby and I took a road trip vacation there last August.

I wanted him to be content in his new home, so I sprinkled a bit of birdseed on the bottom of his cage.

Next year I think it needs a few ribbons and a vintage tag of some sort.  Halloween is so close now that I’m just going to leave it as is.

I opened the door to give you a better peek.  I daren't leave it open too long for he’ll fly away.

Have you found anything lately that you just ‘HAD’ to bring home?

You're a hoot! Ya never know what will strike your fancy. I'm sure Edgar makes you smile. What fun putting him in a bird cage. And please don't ask me what I 'had' to bring home. My answer would fill a book. (Hangs head in shame with smile on face)

This looks so adorably vintage! Maybe a "Nevermore" tag would be appropriate! andrea@townandprairie

Hi Jann,

Love your little Edgar!! I would like to find a bird cage to bring home no success yet! Oh well, the fun is in the hunt. But while I was admiring him in his new home something in the background caught my eye....it is orange, black, cream looks like some stitchery and ric rac? A new pillow for the season?

All the Best,
Christine

Edger is sooo cute! You are so funny-love the open cage door photo! I found a wooden white duck recently. Saw him once, picked him up, put him down and left, next time I was in the store, there he was-I had to have him! Since he was still there, I figured he was meant for me. :)

I love the titles that you come up with. You are so clever. I love Edgar! He is so cute. Way more cute than that rat named Peggy. I wouldn't mind tending him next time you go out of town. Peggy on the other hand will just have to be left on her own.

Hi Jann. I served the potato cheese soup again tonight but I added a whole bunch of steamed broccoli to it and it is just as good if not even better this way too! Tell me how like it, okay!
Hugs,
Kris
