Row by Row, Stitch by Stitch. . .

It always amazes me that with a little time and patience, (lots of patience) what you can do with bits and pieces of fabric.

Last Oct. I signed up for a class to make a quilt called, “Aunt Grace’s Garden Party”.  It is a row quilt that consists of 7 rows and additional borders.

The first row is a garden of flowers with a sweet butterfly fluttering by.

The second row (which we made two of) is a bounty of baskets.

I love Aunt Gracie fabrics and this cheery color combination.  I am planning on making the quilt large enough to fit my king bed.

By the time I am finished it should look something like this. This is the shops display quilt.

Did I mention that I am a month behind?  I have not started the middle row.  We even had the month of Dec. and January to work on it.  What’s up with that?  I’m blaming it on the warm weather. Hee-hee!  This ole gal thought it was Spring and she couldn’t drag herself into the sewing room. I am getting back in the mood, but oh how I hate playing catch up.  Ugggh!

Now I want to show you a couple of fun give aways I have won lately.

Sue from:  It's a Very Cherry World gave away this collection of red goodies. Items for sewing and crafting, fun, fun, fun!

IMG_5397

I was babysitting my two year old granddaughter, Say dee the day it arrived.  Oh how she loved the red earrings!

IMG_5310

Love that smile. . .Such delight!

IMG_5308

Look at what I whipped up with the fat quarter of fabric that was included.

IMG_5392

Notice the border fabric?  The back is also that fabric.

IMG_5393

I know by now your thinking; WOW, she is amazing to have made that pillow so quickly.

Darn, I must confess.  I really made this pillow 3 or 4 years ago.  It just happened to be the same fabric as the one Sue included in her give away.  Mama taught me to always tell the truth. lol!

Seriously though, I was hoping to have created something with my goodies before I did this post. It didn’t happen. Hey, remember I’m the gal who is still playing catch up on her row quilt?

I love this sweet tattered heart from Marsha  The Tattered Chick  The tag was an added bonus.  Isn’t it cute?

IMG_5345

I hung them from my vintage shopping basket filled with my red bubble dishes.  A match made in heaven.

If you have a chance, visit both of these two ladies wonderful blogs.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks a bunch, I love my treasures!

Hugs,

Jann

I love how you displayed your sweet gifts-I never would've thought of that!
Saydee looks adorable in your new earrings. Did she have a hard time giving them up?
And your Aunt Gracie fabric reminds me of the flower patterns I've seen in the old quilts. I look forward to seeing it 'when' it's finished. wink.

How funny Jann. I'll keep this brief since you should be sewing...looks like you've got a lot of work to do. Your row is cute and the finished project will be beautiiful. Loved seeing the pictures of your granddaughter. Congrats on all your goodies too. Tell yourself they are a reward for when you get caught up on the quilt and maybe that will make you work faster!

All kidding aside, thanks for the chuckle and for adding this cute post to my party!
