Looks like we are going to have fall weather again.  After having two weeks of gorgeous summer time temps.

The change will be nice, but I must admit I was loving the

 warm weather!

 

Can't believe Sept. has come and gone.  Love decorating for Halloween, so you'll be seeing plenty of that at Have a Daily Cup! 

 

I tried my hand at more artwork.  I'll be showing you where my party animal ended up, but for this photo he just hung out with a couple of pumpkins.

Out on the Fall Porch

Hello my friends,

hard to believe that there are only 3 days left in September!

 

I don't know about you, but for me it just flew by.

 

Once Oct. arrives I switch my décor from fall to Halloween.

 

I'll be adding just a bit of spookiness to the front porch. 
But before I do I thought I would show you what it looks

like right now.

 

 

The 100 year old white door ended up here out of laziness.  (wink)

I was decorating when hubby was at work and I wanted to move the door into the garage, but it is so darn heavy that I decided to just move it from one side of the porch to the other for fall.

 

All of my outdoor planters are still flourishing so I brought this watering can planted with a sweet potato vine around front.  A rustic bench and a perfectly plump pumpkin completed the scene.

 

I just about threw this sign in the garbage because it was so faded.  But then I thought to myself.  "Jann, if you found this at a thrift or yard sale you would buy it and give it a make over."  So, I decided to do just that.  I repainted the words and pumpkins then rubbed a little stain on top for a bit of shading.

My rusty harvest moon was a gift from my friend, Joyce years ago.  He makes me smile!

 

I thought that my old push mower was the perfect colors for fall.  I planned on making an autumn banner to hang from it, but never got around to it.

 

 

 

 

I placed two old coal buckets filled with pumpkins on each side of  the porch pillars.

This poor bucket has seen better days, but I love it!

 

I love unique pumpkins, but this year I have not came across anything real unusual. 
 

This one is a little pale, so it caught my eye.

 

 

Isn't it funny the things we drag home with us?  I spied this twig while hiking with my hubby and daughter.  Loved the lichen growing on it.

 

 

Pink and orange are complimentary colors.  This little impatient plant in an old minnow bucket started blooming again just in time for fall.

 

 

I placed a bundle of wheat in a large funnel and added my watering can with the orange spout and marigold.

 

 

 

 

My chippy aqua filing cabinet made it's way into the corner.

 

The Cosco stool and hanging bucket are some of my vintage finds.

Love the white and warty pumpkins!

 

I have had the little wooden cornstalks for years.

 



 

My hanging geraniums are still putting on a show.  This past week we have been back to summer time temps.

Smalls for Fall

Hello my friends,

fall has officially arrived and oh, isn't it glorious!

 

I know that big things really make an impact when it comes to decorating, but let's not overlook the smalls.

 

Things that when gathered together invite people to take a moment and discover each and every little thing.

 

I used a bunch of smalls to fill up my tiered galvanized tray.

I had so much fun tucking in fun favorites here and there.

 

I first saw this tray on Priscillas blog last year.  I told my friend, Ann about it and her and I went to Sam's to buy one.  No luck, they were sold out.  But being the persistent gal that Ann is.  She pursued until she found one and surprised me with it for my birthday in July.

 

Now let's check out the smalls.

I love dried Hydrangeas!  These are ones I dried last year.  On the top rack I added a faux cabbage,

a child's golden harvest tea set, and a vintage bottle with a seed pod.

I recently added this gorgeous crystal given to me by
 my friend, Joanne.

 

I stacked a collection of sunflowers fridge keepers I picked up at a thrift.  I thought they were little bowls.  When I came home and googled about them I found that they originally had plastic lids. 

 

I added a corn spreader and a mini pumpkin and pear.

 

 

The amber crystals were also scored at a thrift. 

 I couldn't decide whether or not to cut the strings off,

 (in case I wanted to hang them)

 

 

The green bottle holds a tiny sunflower and I tucked in another pod and hydrangea.

 

On the back side I have a little box that was a party favor years ago.

 

 

The third tier has a dried sunflower, cabbage S&P shakers, a glitzy bird on a faux sunflower, and more hydrangeas.

 

 

Sunflower plates, another thrift find; are on the other side.  The card is an invite that I received to a fun bloggers luncheon hosted

 by Tea Time with Trina and the jar

of apple butter was one of her (3) gracious take home gifts.

 

Wow, what a wonderful time we had and the food was delicious!!

 

The gourd candles and scoop are on the backside.

 

 

Okay now, I am being perfectly honest.  This is what it looked like originally.  After hopping over to Priscilla's to copy a link to her site I decided I need to dress it up a little more.

 

 

So I shopped the house and added a few more flowers and leaves.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All alone these smalls would be unnoticed, but gathered together they make a fun statement!

 

I always pick up smalls at thrift shops.  How about you?  Do you love them, or simply pass them by?

Pumpkins are picked and the house and porch have been 'fallified', so I say, "bring it on"!

 

 

Won't be long before I'll be swapping it out for Halloween décor.  Busy time of year, but I love it!!
