Hello my friends,
this morning on Instagram someone asked what our favorite thing about Fall was.
I had to think for a minute, because what's not to love about fall?
Other than the fact that Winter follows. lol!
Here are some of the things I love about Fall:
1. the changing of the leaves
2. cozy quilts
3. pumpkins
4. cooler temps
5. sleeping with the windows open
As soon as September arrives I pull out my Fall quilt made up of half square triangles, stars and pumpkins.
When it comes to pillows, it's all about the layering. :)
I was wishing that I had made fall covers for my Euro pillows when I made the ticking pillow cases a few years ago. Didn't think to at the time.
That's when it hit me to cover them with a couple of old feed sacks that I had picked up in St. George last Spring.
I simply slipped them on and folded them over. I used the back side because the black lettering was perfect!
You might say, I'm Fall-ing in love!
I had two gold regular shams that I tucked in between.
I made the Fall Greetings pillow for my front porch last year. I decided it would be a fun addition to the bed. The sun turned the burlap a golden color. Worked fine with the gold tones in my quilt.
A simple burlap wreath hangs on the chippy green door.
I added a few fall touches to my bench.
Yup, Fall-ing in love!
My friend, Ann's daughter did my chalkboard art. It's actually a canvas I painted a few years ago to hang above the bed now and then.
Haven't hung it yet, because I want to play with it
a little first. hee-hee
When I showed it to hubby and told him I was going to hang it above the bed he said, "I've already fallen in love with you".
Best thing he could have ever said!
There are so many more things I love about fall:
5. Caramel apples
6. bottling
7. drives up the canyon
8. harvesting from the garden
I could go on and on.

Gosh I love the way the black sets off the caramel Fall colors. And your quilt is gorgeous...what a beautiful way to 'sleep with the windows open' and 'Fall-ing' in Love...too sweet!
My favorite things about Fall, me very favorite season!!!
cool, crisp air.
changing leaves.
the night sky.
apples from the local orchards.
pumpkin fry cakes.
sweaters.
corduroy jackets.
it gets dark earlier.
cooking stews and baking pies.
not breaking into a sweat every time you step outside!!!
And next is my 2nd favorite season.....Winter!!!

Jann - What a gorgeous quilt! I love Fall because of the cooler temps but dread winter. I don't like being inside when the snow and ice come around. But, there are so many wonderful things about Fall.

You married one smart man there! I love Fall and Winter. No matter how cold it gets, the worse Winter day is better than the best Summer day as far as I'm concerned.
I love the weather in Fall, not that we have many pretty leaves. But sleeping under quilts, wearing sweaters and comfort food. Wish we had more of the 4 Seasons, but it's normally Spring and Hot Summers.

However, I have been decorating with all my Fall

What do I love about Fall? ~ the crisp air, wearing sweaters and jeans again, shopping at Round Top Antique Week, pumpkins, and all the beautiful earthy colors.

What an inspiring post, Jann. I'm ready to get my Fall vibe on now. LOL Your bedroom is charming, and oh. . .God bless your husband. What a sweet man. He rates high in my book with that comment! What I love about Fall? Pulling on a sweater, suddenly hot tea sounds good again, pumpkins and Indian corn, seeing the Maples turn and crunching leaves under my feet. Enjoy it all!
Oh, Jann! You have set such a wonderful Fall mood. My Autumn favorites include ~ the school bus rolling down our street, sweater weather, sipping hot tea from antique teacups, making pumpkin soup, and pumpkins on the front porch! We are still having hot, sticky days in the Midwest, but it won't be long now... ♡
I fell in love in Fall and it has always been MY season. It is a season of renewal for me- one when my hopes and dreams burn brightest. Loved this post- xo Diana
I just love what you did and the quilt is so pretty.
That quilt is gorgeous and screams Fall! So do your fun assortment of pillows. I love all the same things you do about Fall, adding all the comfort foods to cook like chili and the homemade breads like cheddar apple bread. The only thing I don't like is the damp rain that can sometimes take over!

The little pumpkin pillows on the bench are too cute. I was thinking about doing a pumpkin appliqué and putting it in a picture frame. Your quilt and shams are so pretty.

It has to be the awesome patchwork of the harvested fields , theres just something that makes me smile in stacks of straw . The completeness of it all but i must admit ive reached the age where i dread winter these days

I am starting my Fall decorating now too but it is 90 degrees here, breaking records!! A cool down to the 70's is predicted for the end of the week! Thank Goodness!!

Your autumn quilt is so pretty, Jann! I was married in October, so that has always been my favorite month. When I lived in NY I loved the oak trees would turn shades of red and orange by the end of October.
Fall comes early to Colorado--in a week or two all the aspens will be golden, by October we will have our first snow!

My favorite thing about fall is sleeping with the windows open, followed by the changing color of the leaves, then sweaters,...I don't think I have just one fall favorite!!!

My favorite thing about FALL is the beauty of Gods painting of the trees all around me. I also love the Sun flowers and Black eyed Susans kinda dying off and corn stalks and apple n pumkin donuts!! And Pumpkin Spice Coffee n Cappacino!! Pumpkins and my favorite Carmel Apples!! And pumpkin sweets that are everywhere!! ha-ha there are a lot of things now that I think of it!! ha-ha AND genious on the burlap bag pillow covers!! Happy fall!! XOXO Love Fran.
