FIND-ing Christmas

Right about now you may be thinking that you didn't know that Christmas was lost. lol!

No, it's not; and I realize it's a bit early to be thinking seriously about Christmas, but for some uncanny reason I have been finding lots of vintage Christmas at the thrift stores lately.

I found all of these cuties on our recent trip to New England.  I snapped this photo in our resort and shared it on Instagram.

If you've ever been to my home at Christmas time then you know that Christmas décor is the last thing I need.  I have no problem passing up on Christmas decorations in the store, but vintage Christmas is a whole other story.

I had taken photos of my recent Christmas finds before I left for New England but didn't get a chance to share them.

I love bells and boy did my heart skip a beat when I spied the red bells out in the yard area of our local thrift.
A $2 score and they light up!  The white bell is flocked.

My mom always used Angel hair under her nativity and I don't think they make it any more.  The glass topper will be added to my small collection.

Love the reindeer cutter!  Scored all for $1.

Tinsel, Avon snow couple candles, and some cute cones made by the Midwest Company.  I will be transforming them.

A velvety brown and white ceramic deer.

Three pack of candles, two pinecones napkin rings that I'll use in January and a few little figures that will be used in crafting.

Who can pass up stars for Christmas?  Two toppers and
3 jello molds.

Just need to add one more bulb to this candelabra.

I had to nab this fabric wreath.  I remember making one very similar years ago.  You just cut scraps of fabric with pinking shears, stick a pin in the middle and pin to a straw wreath.  The two fabric balls were made in a similar manner.  Not sure If I will transform them or use as is.

These were my favorite finds, before I found the treasures in New England.  Eight darling Victorian ornaments.

They are all in mint condition.  I plan on hanging them from a garland off of my living room mantle.

The boxes were as sweet as the ornaments.

Well there you have it, a whole lot of Christmas finds.  I may just have to lose a few of my other decorations this year.  lol!

hugs,
Jann

You really found some wonderful items, I'll bet it was a ball to go junk'n in a different part of the U.S. When you decide to open your store can I be the first to shop?! lol Have a wonderful weekend. Fantastic vintage finds. My mom had a deer like the one you find. I remember those candelabras too. Never too early for Christmas.

Great finds! I'm pretty sure the Avon snow couple are scented wax pomanders. The scent might be very faint now or absent but I have other Avon holiday wax pomanders and the Gingerbread couple still have some fragrance. They were ornaments and I have a tiny Cupid holding a heart for Valentines Day that is adorable.
Will be fun to see how you use them this year. Dee

I just love vintage Christmas too! I am very envious of those boy and girl figurines with the boxes! Although there is some nice (and expensive) reproduction Christmas décor out there, I still pass it by. I am slowly replacing all my stuff with vintage.

Those are all darling. The ornaments look like Bethany Lowe a company that makes reproduction styles. Very cute snow angels. I love the plaid lunch box. I just found one that is a picnic box in the plaid and I will use it for Christmas. Fun stuff!
