Enjoying a Few of My Favorite Things. . .

Hello my friends,

I have so many favorite things, but being asked to go on an adventure with our kids tops the list.

Our youngest daughter, Kylee invited us to go on a hike to Shadow Lake and try a little fishing.

Kylee and her boyfriend, Forest

We left our home about 6:15 a.m.  While heading to our meeting place we were greeted with this stunning sunrise.

We decided we would hike to Haystack Lake first and try fishing there.  It was a chilly morning in the Uintah's.

I look like I'm dressed for a snow storm.  : )

But you never know what you might encounter in the great outdoors.

Along the way we passed a few of my favorite things.

If you know me, you know how much I love to garden.  This scene took my breath away!

I have a thing for moss and lichen.

Being in nature makes me so happy!!

Haystack Lake

We had no luck catching fish at Haystack Lake, so we decided to head up to Shadow Lake.

These three are definitely some of my favorite things!

Greg, (Shultz) Forest, and Kylee

Fishing takes patience.  But if you wait. . .they will come!
most of the time

It took a little while, but all three of them caught fish.  One right after the other.

First Forest, and then while he was getting his off the hook my hubby caught one.

True fisherman!

But, as luck would have it Kylee got one right after this pic.  Hers ended up being the biggest fish.  She let me reel it in.

Hope you enjoy this video!

Excited that her fish was bigger than the boys!

I hope you get to enjoy some of your favorite things!!

Hugs,

Oh how fun to spend beautiful time with your loved ones, Jann. It looks a wee bit chilly there. Gorgeous scenery and I must admit I rather love moss and lichen too.

I love hikes, too. Stopping by your post, I feel as if I were in your great group.

Now THAT would be great -- to be asked by the kids to go on the adventure! Not asking to go along. That's the best. And all photos say it is a wonderful time!

Escaping into nature is one of my favorite things. My honey and I are going to NY in a few days and after looking on-line, I want to spend most of the time exploring Central Park! Not as interested in the usual touristy things.

Jann, I'm not a camper, but this looks so inviting. That muntain lake looks refreshing. It's still on the warm side here in Texas. Happy Autumn!

I say, when your adult child asks you to do something with them, jump on it. I'm never disappointed when I do and I'm happy you had such a fun day.
