Suga, What Do You Collect?

In the words of a Southern belle (which I am not, but one can dream) I might ask, What do you collect, suga?

Then I might answer, (yes, I talk to myself).  I collect suga, suga!

Actually I collect a lot more than sugar, but that’s what I am sharing with you today.

Here are some of my vintage sugar bowls.

Both of the rose ones were purchased at D.I. for a song.  SWEET for my Spring time displays.

IMG_6164

No bird lover could pass up this cute one for $8 at an antique store.

The red one I just found at a yard sale on my way to AZ.  I have been wanting a red one to match my red dish collection for some time now.  No lid, but still a keeper!

The white one is a repro.  I bought it at D.I. for $1.50.

These last two are not vintage, but You’ll know right away why I love them.

I have a few poppy dishes that I display for the month of May.  I love red poppies!

This one I purchased while vacationing in Virginia.  From the home of Thomas Jefferson.  The gift shop that is. It says Williamsburg on the bottom.IMG_6169

So there you have it, my sugar collection.

What do you collect, suga?

Tomorrow at 4 p.m. MST my “Share Your Cup Thursday” party will open.  If you have a special collection you’d like to share that would be wonderful.  Oh, feel free to share anything that makes you happy, you know, fills your cup.  But it would be loads of fun to see your collections, suga!

I also have a give away that I will be drawing before my link party.  Not too late, check out my side bar to enter, suga.

I know, enough already with the suga!

Hugs,

Jann

I think it would be easier to narrow down what I don't collect because if I like it, I probably have a collection of it someplace. Right now I mainly collect vintage dishes with flowers on them. Pink ones in particular.

I also have a doll collection and a collection of teddy bear mugs. One thing I learned about the mug collection is not to let people know you collect because everyone buys you something. When I counted 150 mugs and I had no place to put them, I had to politely ask friends and family to stop buying them since I couldn't use all of them. I'm sure there are more than 150, but I stopped counting after that. *Hee hee*

Your collection is sweet...pun intended. I expecially like the ones with the flowers and the crystal one with the bird on top.

I'll see you tomorrow for your party, and thanks for dropping by mine!

Hi there Mrs Olson! First of all, thanks for your lovely comment over at my blog my first post back in like forever! So appreciated your sweet words.

Finally taking part in Rednesday today and was glad to see your page as the first link. Love the sugar bowls, especially the one from Jefferson's place... so pretty!

Neat that you are doing a party about collections. The only thing I really collect right now is women's vintage magazines. Wonder if I could post my Rednesday post in your party as it shows one piece from my collection? Or did you want us to do a post showing the whole collection? Not sure I'll have time for that today... hmm... :)

Thanks and blessings!

Hi Jann....Love your sweet collections! Can't believe that you got those two darling sugar bowls at DI. How come I can't find good things like that there. Well you know I have found a few things so I guess I can't complain. Thinking about it I guess over the years I've found alot of things there (smile.) You've put everything together so nicely Suga.
Thanks for the headsup about the feature. That was so sweet of you. Also I like your bottle tree. What a fun story was that! You made me chuckle about that store you visited. Too cute.

So your birthday is in July. Can hardly wait to do the luncheon for you. I pretty much do a different color scheme/theme for the different months. Now I've really got to come up with something over the top for July. Hmm...see my latest post and tell me what you think. (smile)

Have signed up for your email again but this time with my blog email. Hope it works.

Hugs,

Nancy

I have got to stop going to thrift stores and antique malls. I am collecting too much while at the same time throwing out other things. Your collection of sugar containers is wonderful. I collect small vases and pitchers. I know you home must be very cozy. genie

Jann, you are too funny! Love your pretty collection. My favorite is the bowl with the little bird on top and the white repo. Hmmm, I don't really collect anything-maybe rabbit and bird decor. I can't resist either!
