Coast’n With the Fab Four. . .

One minor distraction. . .this car exits for barn sales.  Seriously, there was a sign out on the freeway that said ‘barn sale’.  Don’t think you’d ever see that in Utah.

So glad we stopped!  It had a little something for everyone.  We all found fun vintage items.

We wandered into a SWEET candy store.  Look at the vintage candy boxes hanging on the walls.  Of course we didn’t leave empty handed.  We each bought a hunk of our favorite fudge. Ann’s is Rocky Road, Joyces is Praline, Peggy’s is dark chocolate salted caramel, and mine is Maple Nut.

There is a cool ocean breeze but we’re still happy as ducks in water.

We dined on clam chowder and Dungeness crab.  Isn’t that a must when one is at the ocean?  It was such a fun day.  We decided to head back to Welches, OR before dark and hoped to avoid the Portland rush hour confusion.

We were reversing our directions that told us how to get to the ocean and accidently got off into downtown Portland.  Oh, how fun it was trying to find our way back to I-84.  The entrance was just out in the middle of nowhere.  So different than what we’re use to because ours are always by commercial areas.  Good thing we can have fun and laugh about it.

Arrived home about 9:30 and decided we needed a little something.

Nothing like a ‘Brattlesnake Dog’ from a food cart at the town of Government Camp to top off the evening.  Some things just taste better on vacation.

Jann- It looks like you girls had so much fun. I love that you are relaxed and enjoying every moment of it there. I think Portland is one of the worst cities I have ever driven in to try and find your way around..and I have driven most major cities in the US. xo Diana

I do not like driving in Portland! You would love the town of Aurora as it is filled with little antique and knickknack stores!
Sounds like you had fun. I know at the coast there is a salt water taffy factory but not sure if in Seaside or ??? Has every flavor under the rainbow!

Seeing those old candy boxes made me want some old time Teaberry or Clove gum for some reason...:)
