A Different Kind of Tea. . . and a Give Away

This morning I remembered that I wanted to do a tea post to share with Sandi from Rose Chintz Cottage.  Tomorrow is Tea Time Tuesday.

I pulled out my cute vintage tea cup and saucer with the hand painted cherries. I love the little hobnail trim on the saucer and the red, green, and turquoise colors.

I rarely drink tea, but I knew that I would need a spoonful of sugar.

IMG_7139

I got into the pantry to see what kind of herbal tea I had.  That’s when I spied this.  I knew it was meant to be. . .I mean, the box is even turquoise.

IMG_7144

I decided that I would have a different kind of tea.  Ice, Ice, Baby.  Sorry, I couldn’t resist.  I steeped the tea bags in my teapot and then let it cool to room temperature.  I had to run a few errands so I put the tea pot in the refrigerator. When I returned I poured it into my cherry pitcher.

IMG_7145

Into the garden for a sprig of mint and cut a few lemon slices. IMG_7143

Perfect in my cherry tumbler.  It had the most delicious hint of cherry.  So refreshing on a hot summer day.

IMG_7148

What better way to spend a lazy summer day than sipping ice tea under my new chandy?

IMG_7149

Yup, it’s turquoise!  In case you didn’t get enough, hee-hee; here’s a few more shots.

IMG_7151

IMG_7150

Did you notice how perfectly it matches my teacup?

IMG_7153

In celebration of the lazy days of summer and 500 followers (YIPEE)!  I am giving away a sweet cherry apron and darling crochet cherry hot pad. Thanks to my friends, Connie and Kathy for making these for me.

IMG_7147

See how cute the apron is hanging.  The apron is made from a checked dish towel.  It’s hard to tell, but the white fabric has darling little cherries all over it.

Two chances to win.

1.Be a follower of Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson and leave a comment on this post telling me you are.

2. Blog  or Facebook about my give away or put it on your sidebar for a 2nd chance.  Please leave a separate comment for this.

Because I am going to be out of town all next week the contest will end Sunday July 15th. and I will announce the winner on Monday the 16th.

Best of luck and Happy Summer Days!

Jann, what a great giveaway! Count me in please! Did you paint the chandelier yourself? It's gorgeous and I too am loving red and turquoise this year! That cherry ice tea sounds so refreshing. I've been drinking Minutemaid Cherry Limeaide lately as I don't like to have any more caffeine after about 3 in the afternoon. It's delicious too. It was on sale at Walmart for $1.00 a quart. Hurry back!

Hi Jan-
Love the cherry tea cup! It's that time of year here again! Cherry Festival is starting this Saturday.
Your turquoise chandi is cute!
I'm not a big tea drinker but lately I like lemon-aide and tea mixed together or a flavored added like raspberry! I like it cold a lot more than warm except in the winter if I have a cold then I like warm tea!
Have a great 4th of July.
