Dishing Out Spring. . .

As the seasons change, one of my favorite things to look forward to is the swapping out of my dishes.  The last couple of days I have been, dishing out Spring.

This tiered stand was the inspiration as to what colors I would use on my table.  I started tossing out anything that shared the same colors as the roses.  Well, not really tossing, wouldn’t want to break any of my pretties. lol!

What is it about polka dots and stripes that makes us love them so?

IMG_4051_0270

And of course I had to throw in a bit of red. . .see it there in those roses?

IMG_4077_0296

Even my vintage pitcher is a bit dotty.  At first I had a cute turquoise scalloped plate underneath the small saucer.  It rattled every time I walked by the table so it had to go.  Don’t you worry your pretty little heads, I found a place for it.

Went grocery shopping today, so of course I had to pick up some pretty pink tulips.

My sweet little bird S&P shakers were the perfect shade of yellow and blue!

When I bought the tiered stand I also picked up a set of snack dishes.  I passed up the large plates and bowls.  I have so many dishes, and I was trying to be a ‘good girl’.  There’s been many times I’ve wished I had bought more.

Love this sweet terrarium I found at T.J. Maxx last year.  My red jar and faux sedum found a new home inside.

I have lots more pretty Spring dishes that I had planned on sharing.  I’ll save them for another post.  But I must show you what I found today.

Oh my gosh!  Is this not the sweetest salad bowl set for Spring?

IMG_4068_0287

Perfect colors!  Too bad I will be listing it in my etsy.  Just can’t keep everything!

IMG_4066_0285

The softest shades of pastels.

One more glance. . .I knew you wanted it!  Hee-hee!

Have you started dishing out Spring yet?

Jann

There are so many colors and shades you can pick out from the tiered dish, just scrumptious. I haven't started changing up but I'm getting close.

Hi Jann~ You and I should both join the "regrets" club. I, too, bought some of that wonderful flowered dishware, at Marshalls. 4 mugs, 8 dessert plates, 4 bowls and an oversized plate to use as a serving dish. I use my pieces with plain white dishes and love them but I wish I had gotten more bowls and other serving pieces.
I loved this whole post...I'm also dotty for polka dots. I am signing up as a follower and I want to go and visit your Etsy store.
I found you at Pink Saturday!

Love these pastels and spring colors! alas, I think it will be Easter before I bring out anything. There's still so much snow and cold weather here. But something to look forward to. Your dishes are beautiful.

The salt and pepper shakers are so adorable. They are the cutest I've ever seen. Yes I agree with you, pastel coloured wares( vintage look) are now back. And they are perfect for spring entertaining. I might start looking around for more.

Wishing you a good weekend.

very pretty. I have simplified so much these last 5 years or so that I have one set of dishes and other than being white or blue they don't even match.

Hey Jann! Cute post! I love your comment about loving polka dots and stripes….they are one of my weaknesses for sure! They make everything better. Thanks for stopping by my hair tutorial. Sorry about the mix up, but we did link back to your party (didn't know if you saw my comment back to you!).

I'm catching up on older posts, Jann. Very pretty spring dishes, you have. I love what you did in photo #9. Oh, that little bird is so sweet. I want one. Wait, you just gave me an idea. I have a dark gray bird a friend gave me that I could paint white. Hmmm. . .another project to add to my to-do list. Thanks, Jann. xx ~ Nancy
