Bird Business

Many of you love decorating with birds as much as I do.

After my 5 year old granddaughter Saydee left my home yesterday I wondered if just maybe I was in the 'bird business'.

My grands are use to our home being decorated for upcoming holidays.  So when Saydee asked why I had so many birds.  I think she thought there was some special bird holiday that she needed to know about. lol!

I gave her some lame reason and it wasn't until after she left that I thought that I should have teased her a little and said that I was in the 'bird business".

I love feathering my nest!

C

Decorating with birds for Spring helps me do just that!

3 or 4 years ago my sil, Laurie and I made a bunch of paper birdhouses.
They were so much fun to make and I still love them!

I placed some branches in one of my white urns and hung them from the limbs.

I love birdhouses!  I often buy them when on vacation.  The large blue one came from a road trip in ID a few years ago and I bought the little one in Napa last July.

I found this sweet red one at a local furniture store 4 or 5 years ago.

Hubby recently made me a chippy frame out of some old wood I had for a bird print that I bought in Feb.

It became the hi-lite of my mantle.

I created a small vignette on the hearth.  It included a bird of course.

I brought a touch of nature in with a moss ball in an urn on top of two of my favorite décor books.

Once my nest is feathered I love to fly out into the garden in hopes of seeing some real live birds.

Are you like me and have so many bird themed items that you are wondering if you are in the 'bird business'?

hugs,
Jann

I will be sharing with these lovely parties:

I love all your different bird collections. Your hubby did a fantastic job on the frame for you. Works perfect with the bird print. How cute that your grand-daughter noticed all the bird theme objects!

Love your mantle and all the birds, bird houses, etc.
I also love birds and have so many bird houses outside. I feed so many humming birds - have three feeders and have to fill them every other day. They are delightful to watch. Also have a couple of regular bird feeders in the back yard and they are so fun to watch too.
I have a yellow/black bird that hangs on my hummingbird feeder - have to try and take a picture of him. I guess he likes the sugar water.
Have a great weekend Jann.

When you decorate, you REALLY decorate! What beautiful bird things!

Right now we have a mama kingbird sitting on her nest where we can see her clearly. These sweet birds always put their nests on the inside porch rafters. Our dog considers them to be his birds, I think ---- no harm can come to them as long as he is around!

On my blog I have a little "bird box" that contains one nest from my collection.

I can't believe how many birdhouses you have! I only have one that my father built for me. It isn't painted. Seeing all of your has motivated me to paint it.

The blog that was published is excellent and has an interesting topic. However, it may have been strengthened even further with a little more study. Have a look at this article on How To Communicate Using Morse Code. Each Morse code character is represented by a specific arrangement of dots and dashes.
