Hello my friends, you've all seen those gorgeous images of rambling roses, right?

Well, why is it when you want them to ramble they seem to have a mind of their own? I planted this cutie 3 or 4 years ago hoping that by now it would have rambled right over the fence.
But, no! It's being defiant and going where it wants to. It reminds me of raising my kids. They didn't always do what I wanted them to do. Maybe I need to put it in 'time out'! :)
Even though my children didn't always mind, I never
gave up trying.
I'm thinking a little string will help it along it's way. Sometimes we've got to steer our loved ones to the right path.
And look at this. Isn't it just breathtaking?

And then there is mine.
Sally, (the name of the rose is Sally Holmes), is independent and demands to stand on her own. No clinging to that post for her!
She's only two years old, so I'm sure with time she will learn to behave better.
She knows she's pretty with her pale peach buds that opens to white and nobody is going to tell her what to do!
Well, my climbers may be misbehaving; but my other roses are minding just perfectly.
They're job is to put on a show of blooms and those that have started blooming, are doing just that.
I love them kissed with dew!
Knock out red rose
Even this baby miniature is getting ready to mind it's mama! (wink)
Well, let's just say that I hope your roses are ramblin and not misbehavin!
hugs,
Jann

Jann - Your roses are beautiful even if they are not doing what you want. LOL

HI Jann, I think your roses are beautiful and I'm sure that with a little training (and string) they will climb where you want them to. I have a Virginia Creeper vine on the cedar rail fence that needed a little help from me too. :) I hope you have a beautiful week.
Pam
Well they're all beauties in my opinion, Jann, just like our very own kids!
Dear Sweet Jann, your roses are beautiful! You certainly have a green thumb. Some of my roses, I planted two years ago when we bought this place. Then I planted some more last year and again this year. I am hoping for a yard and blooms that are as pretty as yours. Did you have neighbors touring your garden, too. In my mind, I can still see pretty Saydee modeling her garden hat :)
Have a wonderful week.
Connie :)
My roses have departed for a li'l while...they do not like Old Man Winter. As for your Sally, perhaps she needs a year or two to get it all out of her system. She will behave eventually....I hope. =) She is pretty though. Perhaps after looking how your other roses are showing their glorious flowers, she will get the message and 'fall in line'!
What a cute post, Jann. I've got climbers that are misbehavin' too, and it drives me crazy! I bet you're looking at each and every little bud with an eye toward that wedding. Perfect is acceptable, but so it a misbehaved garden. ;) I also love dew and light rain-kissed flowers. Yours are very pretty. I love that Sally Holmes and the pale yellow!
Your roses are so pretty!! I have some wild white roses on the fence out back and we got wind and rain...so now all the pretty blooms are gone.

Oh my word, Jann- your roses are all so gorgeous!!!!!!!
I had 2 of my roses not do well so they've been pulled up. And those I do still have are competing for sun in what has become a much too shaded area now - so not sure what we'll do. Yours are breathtaking.
Hi dear Jann ,, que lindas rosas ,,,, espero que tengas un buen comienzo de semana

Oh Jan, that rambling rose is a beauty, just a beauty. All, so lovely, I can practically smell their sweet scent through the screen!
Jann your roses are breathtaking! WOW! The colors are so pretty and oh yes...I do love it when I can catch the dew upon a flower of any kind. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
lOVELY ROSES!
beautiful roses. do also love those rose covered cottages.
I can tell that your roses love their mama and their place in your lovely garden! They are picture perfect! My roses are not behaving...or growing! It's a tough year in the garden here!
I enjoyed seeing your roses and even though they are young and not trailing majestically they look healthy and are so pretty. I planted some roses where I now live with mixed results. I am battling aphids, black spot, and bad soil. It's like Armageddon.
My lavender is looking wonderful though! And the cat mint has spread from its pot and created a lovely patch for the neighborhood kitties to roll around on.
I am continuing on with the year long writing course and not posting at this time but feeling the itch to take a few garden pictures and share.
Angels to you Jann, a visit with you always brightens my day!
After YEARS of not doing anything but shooting long spine branches with no flowers, I have one doing it's thing and blooming this year??? Yes, roses are like raising kids, but eventually they come home...I guess.Pretty pictures, and the dew drops on your pink roses....kissed by Mother Nature, love this. Sandi
Jann, your roses are really gorgeous! I'm still waiting for mine to bloom. It's very cool here. I heard back from the InLinkz folks and they tell the issue has been resolved so feel free to link up any time. Blessings on your day, Sandi
Oh, dearest Jann, I so love rambling roses !!!
We've about a dozen of them in our gardens and you'll see, just give them a few years and they'll grow up every year faster more and more, without so many cares, be sure !
Hope your week is off to a good start I wish you most wonderful days to come, sending hugs and more hugs to you

Jann you are so fortunate to be able to grow such beautiful roses! I love roses but so do our frequent deer visitors. They eat them thorns and all! I planted some "knock out"roses this year but encased them in chicken wire. I hope that in a few years when they are more established I can remove the cages and just spray them with deer repellent.
Oh Jann..."and then there was mine." I'm still laughing cause I know exactly what you mean. Things never seem to look like they do in catalogues do they? Still, your roses are lovely. I guess, like children, we can't mold them into something they're not and should appreciate their unique beauty. Warm hugs,
Your roses are beautiful / all roses are ! :)
Your roses are lovely. With gardening things don't always go the way we'd like, but I guess that's what makes it so fun and interesting. Love the cute little bird houses.
Jann, your roses are so gorgeous, even if they have a mind of their own! I am not very successful with roses! Blessings and hugs, Pam @ Everyday Living
The roses are beautiful and this makes me not want to cut down a 20 year old rose I have, it's covered underneath with poison ivy and I didn't know how to get rid of the poison ivy without cutting the rose down or how not to hurt the rose?
Your roses are gorgeous, even if they aren't quite mindin' their mama!! I just planted ten new roses this spring, mostly climbers - fingers crossed!! I know they won't do much this year but I hope to enjoy their beautiful blooms for many years to come.
Love your photos!!! Your roses are absolutely gorgeous, and the internet images you included make a delightful post!
Oh WOW !!
Your roses are sooooooooooo beautiful! You definitely know how to take care of your garden and your plants are showing it.
I love the different colors :)
