My Neutral Fall Mantle

Hello my friends,
as I was gathering things together for my living room mantle the other day I noticed that I was leaning towards a neutral theme.

That's unusual for this color loving girl, but I am happy with the way it turned out.

I left the clustered mirrors already in place.

It all started with this platter that I picked up at a thrift shop lately.

Even though the scene was not necessarily fall, I couldn't help but feel that it had that 'fall feeling' when I spied it on the shelf.

I knew it would tie in nicely with my brown transferware pitcher and natural colored pumpkins.

After a friend shared burlap balls that she saw at a local shop on her Instagram post I knew I had to make some!

I added a bottle, another thrift find; to the base of my santos doll and tucked one of my dried hydrangeas inside.

Another thrift find, the metal tray with roses and a big eyed owl was added to the side.

Some neutral colored banners, and. . .

in less than 15 minutes this mantle was complete.

I love it when things come together that easily!

It's almost fall.

hugs,
Jann

This is a subtle look, but beautiful too. I like how dignified it looks, something I'll never achieve with my more is more attitude. Happy fall...soon.

Love your neutral mantle decor! The burlap balls are a great idea. The plate is my favorite piece, but I'm addicted to plates so no surprise there. See you on facebook!

It's fun to create when you have a large stash of great stuff! I love the neutral look. It really feels so much like Fall.

Your mantle is beautiful, Jann. I've fallen in love with brown transferware of late. This is not a good thing -- I need another dish like a hole in the head. But boy, the plate, pitcher and all -- looks great. I love the soft mutedness of it which surprises me because I'm a color girl too. But this is simply elegant but warm.

Of course, I love the brown transferware; but the whole mantel has that cozy, Fall feeling. Love it, plus the fact that Fall is here!! Sally

Loving your neutral look mantle, Jann. Oh to have a bo peep at all your pretties and pick this and pick that! Those burlap balls are cool and as for your little owl, how adorable is it. The architectural piece is amazing and I always love the look of a mirror or two congregated together. The banners set everything off perfectly....and to think you whipped up this gorgeous mantlescape in just 15 minutes....incredible!

Beautiful Jann, I tend to stay more neutral than I did years ago. It seems to blend better with my décor. Love the banner

Jann, sorry you didn't receive my reply to your request. I've tried sending it on my blog, on your blog and on your facebook page. Obviously, I'm not terribly proficient with technolgy. Sigh. It's peshipley@earthlink.net. Hope to hear from you. Pat

I love your mantle Jann! Especially the white frame (?) that looks like a building. With the addition of the plate (which does look Fall-ish), and the windows, mirrors, urn, and banners, it is all so attractive! I also like that doll form (?) thing!

Jann,
Oh, dear friend, I'm loving every element of your neutral Fall mantel!
The subtle hues are calming and serene.
Your Santos is exquisite!
A few years ago, I purchased my first Santos.
I've been on the "look~out" for a second ever since.
Your thrift find plate and tray are perfect complements to your vignette!
Fondly,
Pat
