Two of My Favorite Things. . .Aqua Bottles and Shiny Brites

One of my favorite collections is that of my aqua bottles.

They're not expensive.  In fact, I've picked most of them up for $3 or less.

At Christmas time another favorite collection is that of my
shiny brite ornaments.

So, I decided to 'marry' the two.

I love the results!

Notice the ornament on the book with the ribbon tied to the top?  It was one of my sweet mother in laws. I leave it on so that I will remember it's one of hers. When I first did this display I had placed it, along with a second one of her ornaments on the bottles.  Hubby went into the garage and when he closed the door I heard a crash.  I went into the living room and one of her ornaments had fell to the ground and broken.  :( Learned my lesson!  I placed this one down low and my cute daughter, Kylee added stick-um candle adhesive inside the rim of the bottles so that the ornies stayed in place.

Oh how they make me swoon! :)

As do these cute deer purchased at Target last year.  Aren't they just the sweetest?

I added some bottles, ornies, deer, and bottle brush trees to the table in front of my window.  They help to carry the theme throughout the room.  I will show more of this display in another post.

The cameo hanging on the small shaker was my dear mothers.

I love displays that evoke memories and cost very little!

My shiny brites have been picked up at thrift shops and
 estate sales over the years.

There you have it, two of my favorite things!

hugs,

What a sweet arrangement,Jann! That must have been upsetting when the treasured ornament which belonged to your mother-in-law was broken. I accidently dropped a treasured Homer Laughlin serving bowl(white with red band and signature polka dots. It was just a bowl but I would always think of her when I touched or used it. Your daughter's idea is a great one to keep things in place! Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas season!

I remember Shiny Brites well from my childhood. I'd love to collect some but don't seem to see them often around here. I just love the fun colors. :)

Jann, you nail quirky/whimsical/vintage/farmhouse down perfectly.

I think displaying those awesome vintage ornaments on your bottle collection like that is clever as all get-out.

Looking very Christmas-y over there, looking GREAT!

Have a blessed and wonderful Advent season! Sorry I have been away so long.

Hugs to my sweet friend. ♥♥♥

Oh, what eye candy you've photographed for us Jann! The combination of blue glass bottles and shiny brites is just so fun! And how did I miss those sweet little deer at Target last year?

So pretty! I love how the colors look. I'm afraid even with the stick em my cat would have a field day with the ornaments. I'm waiting to see how she does with the tree this year(her first with me). I love memories at Christmas and you have found a wonderful way to display them. Hugs!

You have a way of putting vintage together that actually takes us back in time. Your display looks so 1940's . . . simply charming :)

Just gorgeous!! I saw your aqua bottles and ornaments on Instagram and immediately copied you! I have all my bottles lined up in my bathroom. Only problem is mine are so dirty inside and I can't get them clean....what is your secret to how clean they are? I absolutely love your 3 tiered dish with the deer and ornaments....I may have to copy you again :-)

This is so pretty and such a terrific way to display the Shiny Brites. They looks gorgeous. I have a few -- mostly smaller ones and some from our old family tree. They are my favorites!

Your collection is amazing! And in the bottles, even prettier!

I think those colors are my favorites. I have a couple of those bottles, but never thought to use them with ornaments. Such a great idea that elevates both the bottles and the ornaments into something unique and personal.

Oh be careful, there is a substance sometimes in candle adhesive that will eat through finishes. I have marks on a beautiful silver bowl from anchoring only for a week with candle adhesive. I use florist gum---which is hard to find, but hasn't ruined anything over the years. Love your display though, very bold and unique. Sandi
