Hello my friends,
Thank goodness for the month of January!
The cooler temps keep us in doors more and allows us some organizing time.
My craft room has been in terrible disarray for months.
It all started when I was hosting estate sales at my home. We did a total of 8 and it kept me very busy keeping things from overtaking my home.
When I did find time to craft, I never seemed to find time to clean up like I needed to.
Then as many of you know things changed drastically for me in July when I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Needless to say that cleaning my craft room was the
last thing on my mind.
Recently I shared a video on Instagram of how messy it was. That video of shame is all it took to motivate me to, "get er done". I spent a few hours last Saturday and although there's still a lot in this room it feels so good to have everything in it's place!
Would you like to join me on a tour?
This shelf holds my vintage camera collection. A banner I made a few years ago and a felt ball one I bought from a blog friend, Holly from Cutie Pie Cottage are draped across the front.
Speaking of blog friends, it saddens me that many of my original friends no longer blog. : (
This desk is in the right corner of the back wall. It's special to me because it belonged to my father. He passed away when I was only 9 months old. Although I never knew him, I love having something that belonged to him!
I've corralled my fillers in a cute basket.
I have to show you this sweet deer lamp. I bought it from the estate sale. The shade is one I made a long time ago. Notice the photos of the boys with their bunnies? It's my sweet hubby and his little brother. Old photos are priceless, don't you think?
I bought this fun thread holder filled with thread for $5 at a flea market. Now and then I use thread in a craft project.
This tall cabinet with cubbies is great for storing small items.
I usually leave the sliding barn doors open because I love looking at all of my crafting supplies. I think I was ready for a cleaner look and decided to close them for a while.
This is my actual work space. It's an old laundry table. There was not a clean area at all before I did the organizing.
That amount of space works perfectly for me.
I like having my supplies close at hand, as well as having some cute things to look at. :)
Bambi was a gift from a friend, and the little mushroom scene was created in craft group.
Another gift from a friend.
This cabinet has to be my favorite find.
This is how messy the top was.
I gathered all of the Christmas items and put them in the green bushel basket I bought at a recent estate sale. The rattan basket holds moss and assorted fillers.
This is what the corner looked like. I had just been sitting anything Christmas themed in the corner. It really needed to be organized!
I used the smaller basket for Easter crafting supplies and placed it underneath one end of the table.
I use my bottle brush trees all throughout the year. In fact, I've already pulled the pink ones out for Valentines. I have this small shopping cart and it worked well. They're too cute to hide!
I smile at how just the smallest things make me ever so happy.
I keep a few of my trinkets out to enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by.
Now that I have a clean room, I think you'll find me in there crafting. I have to clean so that I can make another mess. (wink)
Here's the video I shared on Instagram, in case you're interested.
hugs,
I will be sharing with these lovely blogs:

Jann, I am glad you are up to organizing....when can you come over here? :):) I will clean one place and then it seems two more pop up. LOL. I love some of your good ideas. Hugs to you my sweet Jann...you will always be special to me..my grandson that lived in Utah, has moved to Seattle. Landed an awesome job. He and his wife are doing well. I remember when you offered me your phone number so he could call you when he first got to Utah , if he ever needed help. My God bless you always, xoxo, Susie
It looks very organized and well sorted. I hate when I can't find things after I organize them, but I'm going to give it another go this week. I'll use your clean and pretty room as inspiration.
You did a great job getting everything all organized and set up to start crafting again---and it will be easier to find things and get motivated to do new things. I have been purging and organizing, too, but have more to do. xoDiana
I love your room and you have so many neat things to admire! It wonderful to have things that have good memories. Hugs,
Thank you for sharing Jann! I too know that my craft room is a mess but until I'm healed from surgery I can't do a lot but I sit in there and 'plan'! I love how you organize and still keep whimsy and cuteness in there!
I spy a little polka dot red heart box with some supplies in your Valentine's pic. That certainly was a fun swap...quite a few years ago, I think.
Your craft room is lovely...so many fun things to look at...great eye candy.
We can also reach the saturation point, then it's time to put it all away, regroup, and probably go off in another direction. So, I think putting it away is part of the creative process. I'm glad you got so organized. Now, is it time to start on something new?
Well this time of year is definitely geared toward indoor projects and you've certainly done a great job! I love that a lot of your supplies have become 'displays' and art in themselves just because of how you've organized them!
I"m impressed. This is very motivating. Your room looks VERY big. Sure wish mine was. I'm not sure I can organize much better than it is without some severe purging and maybe that's a very good thing! I love having things from my art friends, photos, things that make it "home." It's probably the room I spend the most time in, since it's also the office. Yours is adorable!
What a great, inspirational space! I think a great crafter (or quilter) are also good shoppers. Don't let anyone tell you that you don't need more supplies --- that's what makes your creations so wonderful. Plus, you just know how to put it all together! Carry on ----
Loved seeing your before video Jann and then all the areas of your wonderful craft room with your many supplies and projects easy to find. Love your many storage pieces. Hugs.

Hi Jann,
I loved the video and the results of your "Cleanup". I am currently in the process of trying to do the same thing, and it is a job. Not a tabletop in here was not completely covered with (good) stuff. I am sorting, organizing, and trying to decide what to keep. Love yours, and love some of the adorable things you have collected.
All the Best,
Gwen
Jann,
Everything looks lovely!! I also have to go through my Craft Room and do some organizing but that woun't be for awhile. I sent you an email asking you about something. Just so you know it is from me...
Hugs,
Deb
Your craft room is amazing. I love the furniture and all the things you are using to organize your bits and bobs. I know what you mean about friends that no longer blog. I can't wait to see what you can ship up in this wonderful space.

Aw, you did it. Such a charming post---and I love the essence of your creative space. Can't help but make wonderful things in there!
That desk! Oh my what a wonderful and beautiful keepsake Jann. Girl, I know what you mean about SHAME! That is how I have felt about my She Shed. Praise the Lord no one ever goes in there but me but still......Working on it though. You have a wonderful craft room! DANG GIRL...I bet you could eat off those floors it looks so organized. So glad that you are well enough to do some things Jann. God has had His hand upon you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Jann, I love your cabinet with all the drawers. I had a chance to buy one a few years ago, but I had to pass because it was $500 and then I didn't know where I would put it. Silly me, since then I know to just buy what you like and find a place once you get it home. P.S. I'm still decluttering my area, it's a huge mess!
I do indeed make a mess when I craft. I have been constantly crafting since the early fall and have not cleaned up at all. It makes your "before" look practically pristine.
I just finished sewing an Edwardian dress and have told myself, "No more projects until the old is cleaned up." I got so many clever storage ideas from you. Thanks!
