Share Your Cup Taking a Break. . .

Hello my friends,

Just need to give you a bit of an update of what's going on with me.  And let you know that I will need to take a break from hosting  Share Your Cup for a while.

Not to worry, it's nothing serious!  :)

A few weeks ago my wrists started aching quite badly.  It started about the time I started my spring garden clean up.

I blamed it on that and thought it would go away.  Well, that didn't happen.  It just got worse and they even started to swell.

Monday I went to the Dr.  I was diagnosed with De Quervain's Disease.  Basically, it's a type of tendentious.

One of the causes can be because of a hormonal change.  We are thinking it's because of the estrogen blocker I am taking daily.  Darn, I have to take this pill for 10 years.  Hoping I don't have to put up with this on a regular basis.

I am wearing brace supports for a couple weeks and it makes it hard for me to do a lot of typing.

I decided that I would take a break from SYC.  Hopefully, I'll be ready to host again in May.  I will still co-host the garden link party starting on the 27th with some of my garden loving friends.  It's only monthly, so I think I can
manage that.

I can't wait to see your garden themed posts!!

I love gardening, and am already having withdrawals from getting my hands dirty.  (wink)  My youngest daughter, Kylee loves gardening as well and has sweetly volunteered to finish my spring clean up.

I will still be visiting your blogs, but will not be leaving many comments.  :(  Just know that I will be thinking of all of you!

Love and hugs,

Your gardening link up party sound like a great idea. I will certainly participate. . I'm anxious to get into my flowers but it will be awhile as we're still getting snow here which is unusual for April.

Oh Jann, ouch! Hand problems can be so intrusive (you find out those hand bones are connected to... everything!). Rest up and I hope they find a way to relieve the problem soon!

We do everything with our hands and it has to be so hard when we aren't able to use them like we're supposed to. I hope your treatment will take effect soon. Take good care!

Oh Jann, it's always something isn't it?! I feel your pain having triggered arthritis in my hands by knitting again after 40 years. I will miss your posts and comments but hopefully resting your hands will get you back as good as ever. What a sweet daughter!

I'm sorry to hear this Jann, but I'm sure with rest the tendonitis will go away. I suffered from the same after having my thyroid gland removed due to cancer years ago. I became severely hypothyroid afterward and it took a long time to get my levels back to normal. My wrist, knees, and hips ached and ached. Rest helped.

Take it easy Jann and hopefully you’ll get past this quickly. Sometimes these medications cause very unwanted side affects. Glad your daughter can assist you withthe gardening. Looking forward to the garden party. Hugs, Liz

Jan, I've had deQuorvain's and I know how much it hurts. I remember that big black brace I had to wear -- fortunately only on one hand. The good thing is that mine did go away and has stayed away and I know yours will, too.

Take care and we'll see you in a couple!

Hope that you feel better. I have the same issue with my elbows... they get so sore that I can barely bend them. Sometimes we need to learn when to slow it down.
Enjoy your break.

Jann, I'm so sorry you're having this challenge that's keeping you from your gardening - and in spring at that! Hope you can sit back and enjoy your garden anyway. I find that I spend so much time actually gardening that I never really have time to just enjoy the fruits of my labors. Thanks for hosting SYC all these years, I will miss it! But I hope to join your gardening link party.

Oh, dear Jann, you really are having a tough go of it! I have been wearing a brace on my right hand since last September and they're still not sure sure what the problem is. We do know it's not carpal tunnel which is good. I have only recently started to use my hand more but I'm still in a lot of pain. I hope you can get yours under control because it's no fun being in pain all the time and I know you're wanting to get out in your garden. Do take care, my friend. Hugs!
