Hello my friends,
My she shed sits up on the top of a hill at one end of our garden, hence the name, Hilltop Cottage. :)
I have collected watering cans for years. After I saw what Mary from Home is Where the Boat is did with hers, I just had to copy.
The link will take you to her post. You'll see that my collection doesn't hold a candle to hers. I know I have more here and there, but these are just what were handy to grab after hubby hung the chain for me this morning.
This is one chain gang that I am in love with !!
I hung my old scale there when the cottage was built, but look how rusty the insides have become.
This bistro set is usually under our pergola. Hubby suggested that it would look cute up there on the hill. I think he was right,
don't you?
The old red creamer was a thrift find. I planted an ivy inside.
The succulents below spilled over from the chicken feeder I had there last year and took root.
This side with the sliding barn door needed dirt removed, leveled, and more gravel brought in.
Hubby did it all in a day, and what a difference it made!
I would still like to add a fun handle to the barn door.
I loved the look of overflowing pumpkins in the grow box he built me last year. I needed to rotate where I plant my tomatoes so I planted pumpkins down by the rose garden, where I normally plant our tomato plants.
Yahoo! I've got tomatoes.
I planted two cabbages in this barrel for my spring porch. Hubby carried it out by the garden for me. Won't be long till these beauties will be ready to harvest.
I planted Scarlet Runner Beans to grow up the legs of the windmill. Peter and friend thinks it was a great idea! (wink)
We moved the potting bench to one end of the back of the shed instead of the middle. It gave me a lot more space for potting.
I added this cute pot holder to the old door. I want to plant some succulents in the clay pots.
I brought a couple of garden goodies home from Aunt Bunnies estate. This stepping stone is just outside the barn door.
Not a great photo, but I also brought home this rain chain. I need to find a barrel to catch the water.
The last new addition is a Wisteria vine that our kids gave me for Mothers Day. We planted it to grow up over the small pergola area. I realize that we are going to have to keep it trimmed, but didn't know where else to plant it.
I've made a few changes inside, but I'll share that in another post.
This garden gal is having so much fun playing in the garden!
hugs,

It is an inspiring post.Your cottage is very charming!Hugs,Jann!
Those watering cans are so very cool, Jann. Your Hilltop Cottage and garden are beautiful. I love Aunt Bunny's mosaic tile, it is very sweet.
Jann, Your 'chain gang' looks great hanging next to your wash tub planter! The last can looks like it's positioned perfectly to water your flowers! I love the soft green of your shed and your cute vintage scale. I've been tempted to plant an Amethyst Falls wisteria vine which isn't as aggressive as the Asian varieties. I can only imagine how fragrant and pretty those purple blooms will be draping down your pergola. ♥
Oh how jealous I am! You and Mary both have the most darling sheds! I want to do the chain gang too...that's so cute. Your plants are happy. That's always exciting. :)
Jann, your Hilltop Cottage is just my kind of place, so fun and interesting! I love your watering can chain and that double deep sink. And your veggie garden.
Some people just have "the flair" and that would be you! I love this -- every detail. And it's also a reminder that I need to get tomato cages! Love the watering can display and also the tin tubs underneath the window. Oh gee, I love it all!
Hi Jann, everything looks so neat and pretty . . . I have no idea where you get all your energy. You are always changing things around and making pretty. I was impressed with her chain of watering cans too and I love that you had enough to do the same thing. It certain adds charm and interest to the corner of your shed. All that I have is three plastic watering cans and I use them all the time. They wouldn't have that vintage charm anyway. You seem to have a gift for finding old and amazing objects. It's easy to see that you are enjoying the season. Me, too!
Loving this warm weather.
Stay happy!
Connie :)
I love your cottage!
It looks so pretty! I love those rain chains and might have to get one!!
I love everything about your yard and the she shed. Love the watering cans and all the metal! Isn't it so cool to visit other blogs and find neat ideas to try in your own. Thanks for sharing and for stopping over at my blog.
Love your Hilltop Cottage. I did the chain with baskets in my kitchen a long time ago. Everybody loved it so doing it with watering cans is a great idea too.
I love your she shed and I love the ideas to make improvements to it.
I love your She Shed. I wish I had one.
Thats a great collection of watering cans. I have two of them.
I have a small watering can collection my self and love what you did with yours.
Jann, I just adore your hilltop cottage. I love everything about it. Those watering cans look so cute hanging like that and that scale....LOVE! Looks like you are going to have some veggies before long. YAY! Love all the pictures. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
You are so blessed to have a handy hubby! Your she shed looks great and I just love the watering cans on the chain. I just got a new rain chain and never thought to put a bucket at the bottom....thanks for the idea!
It's always great to have a new place to putter...lovely shade and great spots for everything. Hubby has an aversion to me hanging 'junk' around, lol as he calls it, but I manage to sneak some in here and there!
This is dreamy! You have made it look even more gorgeous!
What fun you are having in your Hilltop Cottage, Jann! It's so fun to take a peek around with you.
the outside is just as cute as the inside! I can not wait to move someplace where I can have my very own she-shed that will house my paints/ craft supplies and dollhouses.
The stone pathway and your garden looks amazing also.
Have a great weekend.
