Fall Out in the Family Room. . .

This is an older post that I am sharing with Knick of Time for Angies chalkboard theme party.

Who, who has been decorating for Fall?

I am continuing with my Fall home tour. . .a room a day.

This wise old owl that I bought at Swiss Days was happy to be joined by a few other Autumn themed items.

I love old books to give my vignettes a boost.  This owl gets a touch of aqua with his orange candle.

My white scalloped table is home to my green cloche with rustic wooden pears, a pumpkin plate, and a simple candle upon a large faux cabbage leaf.

This happy guy sits upon the T.V cabinet.

When I first houndstoothed this table I knew that there would be times that I really loved it.  Fall happens to be one of them.

The last few years I have run across vintage wheat dishes.   The snack set was the first.  I found the platter a year later.

I made the large sunflower arrangement several years ago.

I decorate our home for Fall in September.  Then I turn around and redecorate for Halloween the first of October.  This year I decided to make my mantel work for both.  Am I getting lazy or what?  I may add just a bit of Halloween, but I won’t redo the whole thing. If you’d like to read more about the mantel check out this post.http://www.jannolson.blogspot.com/2012/09/murder-she-wrote.html

A vintage shopping basket holds a dowel tree and giant acorns on the hearth.  The tree hi-lites a few of my favorite Fall things.

I placed a crow pillow upon the green chair…

and the loveseat got my sunflower bolster.

Fall is the time for pulling out cozy quilts.  Pumpkins and Maple leaves all in a row.  The patchwork pumpkin found homage upon a rusty stool.

My sunflower quilt hangs from the rail.  On the right you see the sunflower picture hanging in the entry.

I’ll leave you with a quote about Autumn Time.

Here in our Utah mountains the leaves are starting to turn.  Their brilliant colors are as lovely as a flower!

Jann

Fall is looking great at your house...an I still love that table you did- the top is marvelous. I always decorate for Fall and then add in some extra for Halloween and then removed Halloween and leave everything in place for Thanksgiving- xo Diana

I love the houndstooth table too. All you decorations look great.
I decorate for Fall in September and then just add a few things for Halloween and then for Thanksgiving.
So far this September I haven't gotten very far.
