Winter Wish!

Sometimes when one loves to decorate as I do, it seems as if I am continually waiting for the next holiday or season.

Especially this time of year when I start getting anxious for Spring.

To abide my time I find myself creating a few Winter vignettes.

A collection of red and rose colored plates sit in a wire basket. I kept my red orbs close at hand ready to be used for Valentines.  A mercury glass bird and a couple of old books find refuge under my bell cloche.

If you look closely you can see my chandelier lamp.

Winter Collage

Some things just got a bit of tweaking.  I removed the Christmas postcards and this old window frame was ready for Winter.

Snowman Café will remain open for a couple more weeks.

If I had one Winter Wish, for you as well as for myself…It would be for us to be grateful for today.  To not wish the time away.  Enjoy each and every day and Season.  Valentines and Spring will be here and come and gone before we know it.

We must learn to appreciate and savor every moment!

Now I think I’ll go make a Valentine garland. lol!

Jann

I can't wait for spring either, call me silly but once Christmas and New Year has gone, I believe in the magic of springtime!

I like always like your creative ideas, and especially your cover over the books. I learned a secret with my cake plate and it's cover, that was handed down to me from my mother, and when I went to buy one this year for my daughter in law, I learned that my old cake plater with cover can be a 3 in one project too, you can use the lid as a punch bowl and stick it inside the cake platter upside down, or you can use the cake platter upside down as a chip and dip dish too. Or the lid as a salad bowl, or whatever. It's fun to play with things and give them new and improved uses!

I love your winter vignettes with a touch of red for the next celebration coming up. You're right about not wishing our time away. Life just goes too fast as it is. Even though it's cold, windy and snowy here and I don't really like it, I'm going to enjoy the beauty of this season around me. Enjoy the weekend! Pamela

The plates are so pretty in that basket.
I have old windows like that as well. I keep a big on on my mantle but never know quite what to do with it. Good idea here.

I love a winter vignette or two. I have one trying to post but blogger hasn't allowed me in two days to post a picture, most maddening.

I LOVE your red and white china hinting of romantic days to come.

GORGEOUS!!

I envy you holiday decorators - your homes always look so festive. I'm afraid I'm just a Christmas decorator with maybe a pumpkin in the Fall! I do have some vintage valentines that I sometimes get out -- I'll be looking for inspiration on your blog and linky party!! Sally

I love your comment on not wishing time away, I tend to do that, especially this time of year. I am trying to find some enjoyment (haven't yet) with the cold weather and always the threat of snow or ice. But I am trying! I do like the snowman cafe! xo

Your winter decorations are so sparkly and pretty. The old window is great for displaying things.I am looking for a smaller one. I love red anytime of year and your red orbs and plates with the red pattern are wonderful. You are right, Valentine's Day will probably be here before we know it. Sparkle Onward!

So pretty Jann... I am partial to red and white anything, especially china... I do not want to wish the time away either, but this darn cold has still got me down, and our LOW LOW temps aren't helping me much!... Nature always makes me feel better, and it is just too darn cold to venture out at all... I have put all signs of winter away and some Valentines things out... it will be here before we know it!... the chocolate Valentines candy is all gone already... someone said chocolate is good for a cold... oh!... that was me!... xoxo Julie Marie
