Center of Attention. . .

The other day I was out in the garden and I couldn’t help but notice the variety in the centers of my sunflowers.

All of them just popped up randomly and I have enjoyed them so much!

I thought that you might like a closer look.

Look closely and you’ll see the visitor in this one.

Sunflowers are so cheery, aren't they!

I have only had sunflowers one year. The squirrels here chewed all the heads off and dragged them away as soon as they bloomed. They are such happy flowers.

Oh my... stunning flowers! Do you let them reseed them selves? or do you cut them and bag the seeds for the next year? Also, did you know they have a "pink" sunflower now? I tried it last year, its not truly pink, but does have some varigated pinks in the leaves... I got the package at Walmart for a few bucks ;0)

I never noticed that there were so many variations of the centers before! Such happy flowers, I've never had any luck getting them to grow in my gardens, so I finally gave up. One year, however, a bird must have dropped a seed and before we knew it we did have a sunflower growing under a tree! :) --Fran

I don't think there is hardly a flower that says summer better than a sunflower. Glorious. I don't know why I have never tried to grow them. Perhaps I should. Have a great week. Joining you through What's It Wednesday.
