Last week we had two of our grandkids while their mom and dad were off celebrating their anniversary.
It kept us busy running them back and forth from school each day, but they were very good for grandpa and I.
Not wanting to be remembered as the grandparents that do nothing other than sit in front of the t.v. or their laptops all night long we opted to do a couple of activities with them.
Thursday night we took them to see the movie, Max. It was really good and if you go see it I suggest you throw a few tissues in your purse. Not that I needed any. :)
Friday night we headed up American Fork canyon for a quick KFC picnic and a walk about at Cascade Springs.
Just as we were getting ready to leave our youngest son, Dalan called. He and his wife, Sam and three boys decided to join us.

Cascade Springs is a natural spring fed by the precipitation from the mountains above.
They are filled with watercress and if you look closely you should be able to spy a trout or two.
Paityn asked if she could bring along a friend. How do you say, "no" to nine year old girls?
Jack liked the cool bridge.
Will was such a good boy! Mom kept him in the stroller so that he wouldn't run off. We don't call him Will-de-Beast, or Will the Pill for nothing.
Evan seemed to enjoy his 'free ride'.
Daddy called it his baby necklace.
Isn't this little chubster a doll?
And Braxton just continued to look, 'studly'. Isn't that what teenage boys do?
(gotta love those red Converse!)
Oh, and if you do go see the movie, Max. Check out the boy star. Both hubby and I thought that Braxton could play his double.
Oh, and remember those bright red converse? Well, he was walking along the wood edge and fell in. One shoe came out muddy, but he washed it off in the clean flowing water and it looked good as new. Boys will be boys!
You can see how fast the water was flowing under the bridge. And of course, I loved the moss covered rock.
Grandpa shot this photo of me and some of the kids.
We always take advantage of teaching moments along the trail. I told the kids how the Pioneers used this plant for band-aids and toilet paper.
Mother Nature provided us with the beginning of Falls beauty.
I have to tell you the funniest thing we saw. When we first started down the trail there was a family picnicking on the ground right behind a 'No Picnicking' sign. It made us laugh and I wanted so badly to snap a photo and send it into Jimmy Fallon. Thought that wouldn't be very nice, so I opted not to do it.
At the end of the trail Braxton climbed up this broken branch and sat down. Guess who encouraged him to stand up, grandma?
And this tree soon became filled with a bunch of monkeys.
Oh to be a kid again!
hugs,
Jann
