Hello my friends, just popping in to share a little something that made my heart skip a beat.
While traveling have you ever ran across something that you wished you could hitch it to your wagon and drag it home?
Such was the case with me when we drove into Baker City, OR.
We drove down a street a block or two below the main part of town. Hubby and I spied a large gorgeous white home that had been turned into a business.
It wasn't until we drove by the side of it did I spy this.
A darling garden shed.
After closer inspection I saw that it was in dire need of some tender loving care!
As my heart throbbed, I couldn't help myself from taking a peek inside.
(these photos were taken through the glass)
It looked as though it's gardener had not been inside for years.
The bottom was overgrown with weeds and dried leaves had fallen onto the table.
The potting bench area was longing for someone to clean it up. A little saying about pansies had been painted on the board above. I didn't tarry long enough to write it down.
It was easy to tell that at one time this old shed was a real beauty! Her chandy and other garden treasures showed evidence of that.
As I walked away it's beautiful stained glass window bid me adieu.
Oh how I wish I could have brought you home with me!
We have cleared a spot up on the hill behind our pondless waterfall for a garden shed. So far, no construction has started.
She would look lovely there!
and
What joy I would have giving her a little TLC.
hugs,
Jann
I will be sharing with these lovely parties:

Oh Jann - how I wish you could have loaded that precious shed up and taken her home to restore. It is darling even in a state of disarray.
Judy
That really would be great cleaned out and spruced up a bit...
Baker City caught my eye as I watched some news this morning about fires raging in Baker County Oregon...
Judy, Maybe your hubby will buy one of those shed kits from Lowe's or Menards. Then you can add all kinds of cuteness to it. I am still waiting on my shed/greenhouse....this back burner is cold girl. LOL. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
Wow, too bad you couldn't just buy it and pay to have it moved. It's perfectly aged with lots of vintage goodness still to treasure! The one that got away......
I can only imagine how charming that shed must have been in its glory days. Can you imagine the stories it could tell...

While I scrawled down the pics you took, I imagined how lovely, romantic and a pretty place to spend time it must have been. Hope someday someone does it some justice.

I'd have had the same reaction as you; places like this are so very appealing. I am hoping that someone else will care for this shed and love it again!
One of my favorite photo subjects is abandoned houses and farms. They all have stories to tell.
Oh my, she is simply beautiful! Too bad the owner is no longer using her. I'm sure that whatever you build will be built with love and character though!! Blessings, Cindy
Oh, it could be darling! Too bad it has been so neglected! Hope you're doing well.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Well I don't blame you for getting excited about it! My mind has gone over ideas as to how it could be moved (like dismantling it and loading it on a truck) but I know it would be cost prohibitive. It's really quite large and you can just imagine orchids and ferns growing in it among other things! Jann you need a big 'ole farmhouse!
You are a girl after my own heart sweetie! This is an awesome potting shed! I had to laugh because I just went to a farm sale and bought a little shabby house to turn into a playhouse for my granddaughters, and hubby has been getting it ready to move this past week and what a pain it has been. I think he hates me right now :))))))))))))
sending hugs....
Yikes! It is so cute. I'd want to drag it home too.
What a great find Jann! It's like opening up a treasure chest.
Oh boy, that is so cute. I don't think it would make a trip through, it's so sad because it's not longer being used. Wish you had photos of her in her "prime"
It makes me wonder what happened to the owner of this pretty greenhouse/shed? Did she move away, get ill. lose interest--so many questions! I wish you could contact her one day and find out if she'd let you dismantle it and keep it!
Hi Jann,
Oh wow so glad I stopped by, and yes many a times I have said turn around we have to take another closer look to who ever I am with. I can see what the garden shed would have caught your eye it would have don't the same to me.... And look at those sweet black eyed Susan's lined up with their faces towards the sun!
This was a great trip for you I am sure, and I bet you came home inspired.
I have been busy with holiday creating in my etsy, and sculpting little Farmhouse sheep, and wire crowns, of course stockings of French vintage fabrics... I so wish I had enough salvage , windows, doors, rustic tin, and a wood pile a mile high so I could build me a sweet shed whether used our not, something imspiring to look at is good enough for me!
See you soon, I am off to see what I have missed here.
Xx

Oh Jann this shed even chippy and un loved is so beautiful. I know if you adopted her and brought her home you could have made her into a beautiful place again. How gorgeous.
Kris
OH she is an old beauty...
Oh, it is perfect! Maybe you can design one similar, Jann, for your space now that you have an inspiration shed.
That's the sweetest little potting shed. And the sunflowers are perfect!
So sad for her to be in that state. The sunflowers were still cheery!
Dear Sweet Jann, that shed could be turned into a beauty with just a little love. I wish you could have hitched it up to your car too :)
I really enjoyed peeking inside it with you :)
Have a lovely week.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
In your hands it could have been turned into a real beauty!
Jann the possibilities with that darling shed are endless. Think of the ideas that you have from seeing it. Can't wait to see what you do in your back yard. Hugs, Jo
Thanks so much for your visits!! What a lovely garden shed that I am sure that you would have restored beautifully! Can't wait to see what you do with the space that you cleared for shed!! I m sure it will be spectacular!!
Hugs,
Deb
I can see why you would want to bring it home with you...with some loving care, it could be beautiful again.

Yes I have many a time, lol. What a shame to leave it like that!! I am only 1 1/2 hours North of Baker CIty, my parents use to live there, nice little town.
I'm in love.
Actually, at our former home, there was a pigeon coop when we first moved in. It was before blogging/Pinterest/Instagram so I didn't know what to do with it. There was actually electricity and at one time running water. We finally had it torn down and planted a lovely garden. If I lived there today, it would be an incredible Garden House.
If only I knew then what I know now.
Oh num! The writer in me, immediately makes up an entire novel based on the abandoned shed, the charming lady that had cared for and loved that space, disappeared…where did she go---and why?
hmm, no chance they wouldn't sell it..for a tear down? I would ask.
What a shame! You would have been able to bring her to life if it was yours, no doubt!
I'm with you...I'd love to bring that beautiful old shed home to live with me. I can only imagine what it looked like in its prime. Thanks so much Jann for sharing at Vintage Inspiration Party.
BUT WHAT IF YOU CAN!! That is so awesome!! Maybe it is just sitting there cuz of you!! I would at least try!! HMMMM.....just maybe? XOXO Love Fran.
Hey Jann-
I would love to have one of those in my backyard!
Can you imagine all the wonderful plants someone grew in there?
Thanks for sharing Jann.
Hugs,
Linda
Oh to have that beauty to restore Jann - how gorgeous it could be !!!
That stained glass window !
xox
Funny how we don't see the potential and do things with what we've got. The owner of that shed has a little treasure and doesn't even know it. ~smile~
