I've mentioned before that for the past 3 1/2 years I have been on the hunt for sheep.
Well, my hunt started out very slow, but you've heard that old saying, 'when it rains it pours'. Ever since Christmas it's been pouring sheep at my home and am I ever delighted!
My herd is growing and today I spent the
morning. . .herding sheep. :)
The two grey ones and the little white one lying down are my most recent finds. I turned around at a thrift shop one day and spied the two grey ones on a cart they had just rolled out. $.75 cents and I was excited to find grey ones!
I'm sure the little guy is from a nativity set. I forked out a big fat whopping 50 cents for him.
Look at the faces on these triplets. Aren't they the sweetest?
They were gifted to me for Christmas from
Paula ( Pollyanna Reinvents)
They were from her personal collection. She said, that 'they really weren't her style'. Lucky for me! (wink)
This wonderful German sheep was another Christmas gift from my Instagram friend, Joanne. I about cried when I opened it up!
The cast iron sheep was one of my first finds. I bought him at a local restaurant called Kneaders. Love him!!
I just bought the little cake stand at T.J. Maxx. Isn't it cute with the aqua doily underneath?
Paula works at Treasures antique mall. One day, while working she texted and said someone had this small herd for sale, and did I want them? Also German.
How could I say, 'no'?
No, you're not losing it. I changed some of the tree colors.
I placed a purple chenille spread on my table then spread a grassy mat down the center.
The little wire fencing adds a touch of whimsy.
I added some of my bleached bottle brush trees and using an assortment of cloches put the sheep out to graze
Still debating as to whether or not I would like the table just the wood. What do you think?
Either way, this sheepherder is loving her herd!
Just need me a sheep trailer and I'd be in 7th heaven!!
hugs,
Jann

What a fun collection Jann and with the colored bottle trees they make such a cute setting!
Oh they are so sweet! I love the way you've given some of them the place of honor inside a cloche. I have a couple of sheep but would like to have more. They are hard to find, it seems.
So sweet. xoxo Su
Jann,
what a fun collection, perfect for Spring! They look adorable on your table!

This is so cute, Jann! I have a flock of little sheep, too...
Darling and very Baaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I've found several of my sheep at thrift stores after Christmas -- must be remnants from broken Nativity sets. Love your gray ones -- unusual find. Keep herding!! Sally
Your little sheep are darling Jann. I'm a sheep lover too and have been begging my husband for a ewe with little lambs. You probably can guess how that is going over :))) Our children all did sheep projects for 4-H and Dale doesn't share the same passion for sheep that I do. Maybe I will have to get a little flock like yours until I can convince him.
When you wrote about your vole trails I groaned, wondering what I will find once the snow is all off. I hope your garden recovers well for the summer. I know it will be beautiful for the wedding!
sending hugs...
I would go with the wood top of the table. Just my taste. But your sheep look great on the purple too.
I wonder if the amount you have constitutes a herd?
Your sheep is so adorable and I love the glass domes you have over them. I need to find me a dome to put over a small glass unicorn that I have.
It's pleasure to see your collection. It feels like the sheep farm under glass. It makes warm feeling.
We have some vole trails on our lawn too. They sure do make a mess!
I love your collection of sheep, Jann! I have one cast iron one very much like yours which I received for a gift. I have been looking for sheep too for a few years and he is my very first one. I wonder where our fascination with sheep comes from. An awful lot of us love them! Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week.
Blessings,
Sandi
A very sweet sheep collection! My friend Bonnie collects them also (she is a knitter) so I find myself always looking for sheep! I love your centerpiece. I think it would look great with or without the spread.
Love your sheep collection!!!
Oh gosh, your collection of sheep is so cute and they look great in the cloches! My favorite is the German sheep!
Oh Jann, your herd is just wonderful! My favorite are the triplets, you have such nice friends to be on the lookout for you and sending you some. :) I like the chenille as a cloth because it reminds me of wool but the wood of the table would look like dirt surrounding the grass. So not sure which one I would prefer. I'm sure which ever you choose won't look "baaaa-d"! :)
What a fun thing to collect! Love the cloches you've created and I love the one from your friend. Thanks so much for linking up with Let's Talk Vintage!
Your sheep collection is so sweet and I love how you've decorated the table with them. So cute!! I like the chenille spread as a table cloth.
Loving your sweet collection. Just precious. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
They're simply adorable.
What a wondeful shepherdess you are, Jann! I love your collection.
The post of kindred spirits was fun to read, too. Of course, I loved all the red!!
You definitely have a herd. All charmingly displayed. I think you're attracted to collecting sheep, because you're so good at taking care of others. You really are a kindly shepherd in your own right.
Oh what a sweet collection! I love how adorable they look under the cloches. And you are right, they are so hard to find. They add a touch of whimsy to any vignette :) Hugs, Poppy
Love your sheep collection. Your display makes me wish that Spring would get here, but no such luck as we are getting snow tonight.

Love the chenille and the pastel trees. I have a small sheep collection too. Aren't they addictive!?!?!? You may want to check out Kathy B's (http://cedarpond.blogspot.com/sheep.) They are handmade using wool FROM HER OWN SHEEP. I have a whole flock. They are on my table for St Patrick's Day. I'll have to post a picture. I'm warning you though, you will fall in love with them.
Great Shared
I love the "herd". What a great way to display them too! I felt like Spring was in the air when I looked at your display.
Jann, thank you so much for sharing this at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. Sheep are so sweet whether they are real or decorative. They remind us of sweet simple things. :)
Jann,
Love your collection of sheep!! I have been seeing so many sheep all over blogland lately..I need to go on a hunt of my own for some sheep...
Thanks so much for always taking the time to stop by!!
Hugs,
Deb
What a wonderful collection. I adore the sheep bank. I am a bit late in visiting due to it being college finals week for me but I am so very happy you joined Thought of Home on Thursday and shared this delightful gem.
Love your collection of sheep and you have them displayed so charmingly. Since I read your post I have been digging through my decorations for sheep. Thank you for sharing at Vintage Charm.
You have a fantastic collection of sheep Jann. I can never find them but, I'll keep hunting. Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
These are so sweet. I love sheep and was thrilled to see them all over the English countryside when we visited last autumn. Your collection is gorgeous. I saw your link at Diana's Adirondack Girl @ Heart/ Vintage Charm party.
