Out on the Porch for Spring.

Hello my friends,
Spring has arrived and it has finally been warm enough that I could decorate the front porch.

Once March arrives I find myself chomping at the bits to plant some spring bloomers and decorate the front porch!

I am a porch lovin kind of gal.  In fact, that was one of the stipulations when we were in the market for a new home.
It had to have a porch!

The day after we arrived home from our Texas vacation I had fun

I placed them out on the porch, but waited till it warmed up a bit to finish decorating it.

A few months ago I picked up this rolling cart at a thrift for $3.  It was painted tan and filthy.  Nothing a good scrubbing and a couple cans of spray paint couldn't fix!  :)

I painted these wooden eggs years ago, but I still love them!
They're polka dotted!!

These two thrift find pots express what every gardener hopes for!

The drop leaf table that once belonged to my hubbies grandparents remains on the porch most of the time.  I draped it with a small scalloped quilt.  The architectural piece is one I found at an antique shop in Waco.  Hubby thinks it's a piece of a porch railing.

My sweet friend, Amanda made the bunny butt banner for me.

Ranunculus are my favorite spring flower.  I planted them and Anemones in my newly purchased Magnolia galvanized bucket.

I tucked a little surprise inside.  I kind of have a thing for lambs!

I have no idea what this stuff is called that these cute bunnies are made out of.  I found them at our local thrift a few years ago.  Last December I found a deer made out of the same stuff.

Did you know that I have two front doors out on my porch? (wink)

Yup, one that enters into our home.  I hung a Welcome basket filled with faux flowers. A cute metal chick, and pretty ribbons finished it off nicely.

The other one is an old door that came off of a 100 plus year old home that once belonged to our youngest daughter.  It stands in the corner of our porch.

I made this umbrella a few years ago.  It's faded a bit, but I still think it's cute.  Another little surprise is tucked inside one
of the folds.  One year I had a Robyn build a nest on a wreath that I hung on this door.  It made me so sad when I came home and found that something had eaten all of her eggs.  :(  Poor mama was
so upset!

Isn't this little green stool sweet?  Yup, another thrift find.  I planted the yellow speckled enamel pan with primroses and pansies.  I bought the metal piece at the same antique store where I bought the porch rail.  It reminds me of a crown.  I thought it was appropriate to remind us of the crown of thorns Jesus was forced to wear.

And. . .I'm just full of surprises!  I tucked a couple of eggs into this planter as well.  I had fun playing with the color of this photo.

I have a couple of urns that I picked up at a yard sale on each side of my porch.  I love these pretty purple flowering cabbage.  A small piece of metal edging adds vertical interest.

And of course, we need a bit of whimsy!  Last year I hung two buckets from my vintage pulley.  this year I hung a couple of eggs.  Soon the tree in the background will be covered with
white blossoms.  Can you tell the wind was blowing a bit?

At first, I was going to have hubby take down the chandelier.  But then I decided to leave it.

A pretty bow and eggs dressed it up for spring!

So, from my front porch to yours. . .

Happy Spring!

Oh, and the Sweet Peas I planted to grow up the trellis have already started to push through the dirt.  Can't wait!!

Counting the days till my Lavender Twisted Redbud is full of pretty blossoms too.

That's what I love about spring.  Almost daily you awake to a new surprise!

hugs,

Jann, look at all your pretty Easter decor. I love it. Makes me jealous. I have been able to put one thing out for Easter and I don't know when is the last time I have done something to my front porch! Lord help me cause I need it. LOL! But in my defense just trying to do a little here and there with working PT, grands, and kitchen makeover...my plate is feeling full. But, my front porch will be my next tackle! And TACKLE is a good word cause it is need of a good old pressure washing. That pink cart for $3 is a beauty. LOVE me some spray paint. Hugs and blessings to you dear Janet and Happy Easter.

Your porch is beautiful and I love all your decorations. So many pretty items on your porch. It certainly says SPRING. I am like you and I can hardly wait for my roses to bloom and they are and the seeds to sprout.

Have a Happy Easter Jann to you and yours.

Hugs,
Mary

Jann, Oh I do love your porch! I am a porch kind of girl too. I tend to hang out on the back porch mostly. I need to get "hopping" and tidy up my front porch!

Very, very sweet! I love all your extra special touches. Still snow here on the ground and on my porch. I did put away my winter wreath and snowman. It is Spring despite what our weather is doing!

Jann, you are seriously fun. Period. End of discussion.

Your whimsy, your power of color, you have got to be one of the most fun bloggers around.

You decorate my polar opposite - you'd be so bored with my lack of color you'd cringe - but that's what makes it fun to read your blog - just to see what awesomeness you'll come up with making/doing! Bravo! Love your fun style!

Hi Jann,
Your porch is really cute. Love the vintage little lambs in the planter. I had my umbrella out on the door last Spring and I had to move it inside as the robins were wanting to nest in it! Yours is so cute. Happy Easter.
Hugs,
Kris

Hi Jan, love your crafts and all the posts. We just moved to Keller TX and I'm looking for a craft group. Are you near? Or is there someone else on here that would be interested in making similar things? Thanks...
