Hangin with my Gnomies. . .

Hello my friends,
while working in the garden the other day I discovered a mound of moss growing in one of my old milk buckets.

I just knew I had to do something with it!

Yes, remember I am a moss loving gal?

I have a few buckets spread throughout my garden that I have  planted perennials in.

This bucket had a Sweet William that has come back for years.  I think because of our mild winter it didn't get enough water and died.  Usually when I pull away the dead there is new growth showing.  This year there was nothing.

But to my surprise there was a volunteer mound of moss.

I had bought a pkg. of sweet mini mushrooms in the garden shop at Magnolia Farms.  A trip to Target and I came home with
these two gnomes.  They were $3 each.

I thought they were cute and I loved the colored flowers.  However, in my mind I just knew they could be even cuter!  (wink)

I pulled out my acrylic paints and had a bit of fun.

I had a few plants left from when I potted pots for the front porch, so I added them to the bucket.  I also tucked in a little metal piece I had in my stash.

Doesn't he just look so comfy resting upon that moss bed?  :)

I think his friend has a flower plucked from his garden for him.

This was such a fun and easy project that just makes me smile.

After all, who doesn't love hangin with gnomies?

hugs,
I will be sharing with these fun parties:

Adorable! I fell in love with gnomes last year and started collecting them. I love how you prettied yours up! The whole bucket is so creative and cute. I actually tried to grow moss from seed in my garden and it was less than spectacular. The natural stuff that just pops up is perfect....go figure :-)
