Just BEEcause. . .

Hello my friends,

I thought I would share my latest tablescape with you. . .
just BEEcause.  (wink)

We have had beautiful weather lately.  My spring trees are blooming and my garden has been buzzing with bees.

Why not set a fun tablescape inspired by the bees?

The bee on this canvas looks so real that sometimes I'm afraid it might just buzz over and give me a little sting.

I have a collection of honey pots.  This one with the blue spoon helped determine the colors for this tablescape.

I use black and white often with my bee displays, but blue and yellow seemed to be a cheery combination.

I had six blue and white plates that I bought at a thrift a few years ago.  Look closely, and you'll see that they are two different designs.  I have three of each, so I set the place settings alterating every other one.  The small blue plates were a thrift find as well.

The cups are by Mary Englebriet and were also found at a
 thrift shop

I recently bought two of these baskets from a friend who moved to Portland.  I filled the bottom with excelsior and tucked in a saucer, a honey pot, and a tea cup.  A blue doily is draped over the side.

I have had this polka dotted teapot for years.  I bought it at Mervyns way back when.  Did you shop at Mervyns?  I originally had a teacup to match, but broke it.

I added ribbons and a gold metal bee to the handle of the basket.
Just had to dress it up a little.

The basket and teapot are easy to grab for a spot of tea in the garden if the urge arrives.  :)

I love the cake stand with the blue bees.  It's bluetiful, don't you think?  lol!

I always need to add a bit of quirkiness.  This metal candle holder did the trick.  The cashier at the thrift wondered, "what in the world I was going to do with it".  She was surprised when I told her I was going to use it to hold a candle.  I spied the bee clip at a local restaurant that makes gift baskets and asked if they would sell me one.  I ended up buying two.  One large, and one small.

The book with the bee skep on the cover was another perfect find!

I have a couple of bee themed S&P shakers, but chose to use these blue and white ones.  They are ceramic, but are made to look like chipped enamel.  Another thift find that I love!  I get the biggest smile on my face when I run across perfect little things like this.

I often don't realize how many thrift finds I use until I do a post.  The garland that I added to the chandelier was another one.

The sweet bee embellishment was attached to a gift that some of my friends gave me when I had surgery last August.

I really wanted to add some blue handled utinsels to this tablescape.  I looked at 4 stores last week, but have yet to find some.  I may have to order on line.

Now not only are the bees buzzing in the garden, but they're buzzing in the kitchen too.

I have alot more bee items I hope to be sharing with you soon.

hugs,
Jann

I will be sharing with these fun parties:

You're the "bee's knees" as they used to say, Jann. I love this post. I used to have quite a collection of bee things but let them go a few years ago. I gave them to a friend that collected bee items. Really a HONEY of a post today! xo Diana

cute tablescape for sure, anything blue and white is good in my book.
I have also added a few yellow items to my table lately since I found them tucked away in a drawer.
I also like your teapot and would love to have tea with you.

Happy Mother's Day weekend

Ooooh! Love that little honey pot! A lovely little table you've set -- love that canvas as well! Enjoying 'spring/summer' here as well in Chicago -- although on Friday it was 80 and yesterday and today . . . 40's!! My lilacs are shivering haha!

Blue handles would be lovely but to be honest, you don't need them to make a smashing table! It's buzzing with good cheer and happiness!
