Patriotic Pink

Hello my friends,

I know what you're thinking. . .pink is not a patriotic color.  Normally, I would agree with you, but somehow; it works!

When it came time to pull out my patriotic décor I wondered what I would do in our living room.

You might remember that I painted the floor white and added a pink rug.

While working on my friends Aunt Bunnies estate I came across this fun U.S. Navy pillow.
Notice how there are touches of pink in the corners?

That got me thinking, that pink might just work.

Then I remembered this small quilt I made quite a few years ago.

Perfect for tying in a little more pink!

Isn't it funny how one thing leads to another?  Then I noticed that the quilt top that I had draped in my chippy laundry basket had bits of pink as well.

So I added some pink books to my Independence vignette.

This display is my ode to the signing of the Declaration.

I bought the parchment documents in Charleston while vacationing there 9 years ago.

So, what do you think, does pink seem just a little bit more patriotic?  :)

hugs,

I will be sharing with these fun parties:

You are right, it works! I love your military souvenier pillow...my mom had several of these from my brothers who were in the USAF and they graced the back of our couch as well! Happy July 4th!

I absolutely love all of your great stuff for decorating. You must have a warehouse filled with seasonal things. You're always coming up with something new.
Happy 4th of July!
