There’s nothing quite like a morning stroll thru the gardens. Wouldn’t you agree?
One of my favorite morning blooms is those of the Morning Glory.
Many people dislike the way they reseed and come up everywhere and anywhere.
That’s one of the things that I love about them! To me it signifies:
1. Determination
2. Strength
3. Resilience
4. Reliance
That’s right. Those blooms are determined to come back. No matter how harsh the Winter might be. Their resilience and strength make them a reliable welcoming bloom. For that alone they can be commended.
Although I must admit, it is a bit of a companion plant. Always depending on something or some else to hold it up. Believe it or not underneath this bounty of vine is a small Japanese Maple tree.
And here it has climbed to new heights flowing gracefully throughout the branches of my Crabapple tree.
I love how the blue and pink have joined together in this picture to twine amongst my soon to bloom Hibiscus.
Love it or hate it, the Morning Glory is a sight to behold.
This is the original place that I planted the seeds. At the base of an old dolly. That was two years ago. Never before have I gotten so much enjoyment out of a $1.29 pack of seeds!

Congrats on the arrival of Baby Will. I'm sure he will make every morning glorious!! We planted for the first time this year some morning glories. I have been a little disappointed in them so far, but I am sure that in a couple of years they will be as prolific as yours. Sally
Wow, you got your money's worth. I don't care much for their invasiveness, had them in my yard at a former home, but they are a pretty flower. I could probably use them along my ugly fence. xo
I love morning glories! They don't come back here though.
Some people find them a nuisance, but I love morning glories and how they pop up unexpectedly at times. Ann
This is another one that I consider a flower (that I like) and the farmers consider it a weed! But, I welcome them at our farm headquarters. They also bring back memories of my high school principal, who never failed to say to me each morning, "Morning, Glory!"

I love this pretty color. I always liked to buy the packets of wildflower mix and get a surprise when things popped up and bloomed. Enjoy your week!

I'm a morning glory lover as well; however, they are slow coming along this year. Perhaps they don't like as much rain as we've had.
I love the morning glory, too... and the glory of a new morning, a new day... with no mistakes in it! That's what a morning glory reminds me of.

Well, you are gonna die laughing. I can grow just about anything...stick it in the ground and it thrives for me. HOWEVER, I ADORE Morning Glories- I wanted to name my house Morning Glory because it catches the East Son and I love the glory of a morning...BUT...I cannot get those flipping things to grow for me for love nor money. I guess I will just have to keep coming here to get my fill! xo Diana
I don't mind their re-seeding habits either. Our soil is so think and stony that I am grateful for every plant that thrives here.
I love Morning Glories! I have never grown them! Well, I think I've planted them in the past, but those pesky snails and slugs probably devoured them when I wasn't looking. Yours look gorgeous! I love the blue and the pink - my favorite flower colors!

My husband loves them, but when we planted them a few years ago, they soon took over everything! I got rid of them, even though I love them! These photos are gorgeous!

You have to keep on top of them so they do not overrun and choke other plants and trees. I had them in a former home and they took over a 16 ft long fence that was 8 ft tall. You could no longer see it at all. They also climbed up a maple tree that was about 30 ft tall.
Their weight caused some of the branches to crack and fall. Then they overran the lawn and would clog the lawnmower.
They are beautiful, but definitely keep on top of it.

I agree! Love my Morning Glories and how they return...surprising me sometimes in the oddest of places, climbing up a Hydrangea or Camellia. The cheery faces and twining branches delight me every year.

How lovely your Morning Glories are, Jann! This past weekend while I was on the Oregon Coast I spied so many of them happily climbing up trellises and archways. I agree...they are such a hardy plant and they continually bless us with their glorious blooms.
