BEE Happy!

I have always considered myself to be a happy person.  Life’s too short to spend each day being sad.

IMG_0651

If you don’t realize that now, believe me by the time you reach my age, (pushing 60) you will.

Inside I feel just like I did as a teenager hiking to the ‘G’ mountain.  But sometimes I feel my age. Some days I ache as though I have been hiking ‘G’ mountain. lol!

IMG_0652

Still I am happy.  I love life and life loves me.   I am very blessed and feel my makers love every single day.

IMG_0653

I see the beauty in so many things.  One might say, I have a positive attitude.

IMG_0654

I love meeting new people and spending time with family and friends.

IMG_0655

One of the greatest compliments I was ever given was told to me by my 17 year old grandson three years ago.

He said, “Grandma, it doesn’t take much to make you happy”.

IMG_0659

Yup, a few pretty dishes,  will even do the trick.  Which by the way are my youngest daughters.  I gave them to her for her wedding shower.  They are being stored here while they are in Spain.

You’ll never guess where they came from, the Dollar Store.

My sweet Bee Skep is one of my favorite vacation finds.  I bought it at Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia.

The burlap bee container was a $7 clearance item at Ross and my cute doily I just bought at Fleattitude for $2.50

IMG_0662

If I had one wish for you it would be to “BEE HAPPY”!

Sure there will be days that one might have sadness.  But I pray that if that be the case that you will be able to pick yourself back up and be happy.

Hubby and I love the show, Duck Dynasty.  Uncle Si is always sipping on his sweet tea.  It makes him happy.

No sweet tea, but a Fresh Lime every now and then is so refreshing.

IMG_0660

And it’s ever so easy:

Just mix a lemon-lime soda (7-up, Sprite, Fresca, Squirt) with freshly squeezed limes and a bit of cherry juice.

IMG_0661

And don’t forget a few slices and cherries to make it ever so pretty.

Especially in my bright green and black thrift find pitcher.

This is sure to make you happy, happy, happy!

hugs,

Jann

p.s. Share Your Cup will start early tomorrow.  Sometime before noon.  I am heading to St. George for a ‘Girls Trip’.  Like I said, happy, happy happy!

How do you like my new header?  My daughter, Kylee revamped my blog as an early Mother’s Day gift.  May be doing a few more changes.  I woke up to this sweet surprise.

I will be sharing with:

I have always thought about buying a bee skep but never have. I love the flowers embroidery too. I think the older I get the easier it is to make me happy or at least content!

Hi, Jann! Thanks for sharing your positive "Bee Attitudes!" You really expressed how I feel now that I am the same age as you are. Why is the face behind my eyes so much cuter and younger than the one in the mirror. It's sometimes a bit of a rude awakening...lol! But I loved this fun positive post...I'll bet you are as fun as your blog! =D

Jann, You and I would be great friends...we think alike. I try my best to stay up-beat. Yes I worry, yes I have woes...But I pray and then give my burden to the Lord...just as He wants us to do. Stay happy girl. xoxo,Susie

I have some bee skeps, but have always used them outside - might have to bring them in for a change! I was so sad to have missed Flea-ology since I was out of town over the weekend - hope I can make it to the next sale. Have fun in St. George - the weather should be nice and warm there!

Your bee skep looks so great with your adorable Dollar Store dishes and other cute table things. I used to have a large bee skep that I kept out in my flower bed. It was so pretty amongst the flowers and even in winter when snow decorated it. I was glad though that no bees ever started living in it. I wish now that I would have brought it in during winter, because it finally got too tattered to keep. I priced the large ones last year and they were pretty expensive (for me).

Sometimes it catches me by surprise to be thinking of doing something and then realize that I, too, am pushing 60. In my mind I feel as young as I ever did. But when it comes to my body, especially my knees, it feels like instead of me pushing 60, 59 is pushing (stomping on) me. Even so, it is better than the alternative.

I like your outlook! My hubby's grandmother always said insted of looking for fun, you need to create your own fun. So true!

This is my first time here. Coming from NanaDiana's. I believe I will be following since I love upbeat ladies. :) I love the pattern on those dishes. I have found a few really good deals at the Dollar Store on things my daughter still doesn't believe could come from there. lol I believe Si's tea is unsweet. ;) We don't watch "tv" around here but borrow our daughters Duck Dynasty dvd's and enjoy watching them together. It's nice to have something to watch that the grandkids can watch with us. They love it as well. Have a great day and I'll be back to visit.

Love these things that make you happy. You're totally right - life is too short to not choose happiness. And Duck Dynasty... oh man. That show gives me some good laughs. There's nothing better than a good laugh.

Love the new heading Jann! What a sweet daughter. Love the bee skep, and burlap container. I can't believe you got those cute plates at the dollar store!

It's so funny that you should mention Duck Dynasty. Our church just did a Duck Dynasty Sunday. Everyone dressed in camo, the church was decorated with real pines, branches, duck decoys and ponds (camoflaughed pools). The theme was Happy, Happy, Happy! The message was about how true happiness is not an emotion. Only a relationship with Jesus brings true happiness.

Love your post. Have a super week!
Hugs, Deborah

What a delightful post! I love all things bee- and last year I got bright yellow kayak- so of course I painted a giant bee on it and "christened" it "Bee Happy"-as a reminder to paddle through life with a positive attitude- Thanks for sharing some sunshine (and a lovely table)

Hello, Jann! Your post is lovely with all the bee items, right down to the little candle under the cloche dome. Your bee skep is a wonderful keepsake from Williamsburg. We visited there only once. It was a good trip, however, it was in July during the hottest span of days I can ever remember. We hope to go back during the fall one year. We ate at a couple of places in within the colonial area. One of them was Christiana Campbells. I purchased a decorative plate and also a picture of Christiana Campbells establishment and continue to enjoy both. Thanks for sharing your pictures and your positive attitude and thoughts!
