As long as I can remember I have been mad about plaid!
Plaid coolers, thermos’s, and even tape dispensers.
A couple weeks ago at an estate sale I ran across this plaid tin picnic basket. I knew the minute I saw it that it was coming home with me. It was marked $18. I was hoping to get a better deal, so I asked. Figured it couldn’t hurt. She graciously came down to $15.
The two plates hang in my entry. They were a thrift find of $1.50 each, SCORE!
I used my red glass orbs, a couple of old books, and planted a couple more Paper Whites for this vignette. I’m going for an outdoorsy look.
I made the music sheet garland last year. What could be more fun than a plaid thermos full of hot chocolate while caroling?

I'm in love with it all! I had a green plaid picnic basket just like yours at one time, but gave it to a friend. I've kicked myself ever since. How I love all your Christmas plaid tins and thermoses! I feel like I am back in my 50s childhood. My Dad had a big old Coleman thermos that looked so much like yours. We would drive from Oregon to Kanasa City, Mo. almost every Christmas. He would always have it by his side along with his box of Cheesits as we drove the first 1000 miles nonstop. Oh, the memories!
How I wish I could grow paperwhites...but, my voracious kitties would try to eat them >^^< >^^< >^^< The little stinkers!

Oooo, I've been eyeballing that particular picnic basket on Ebay for a while now, but I'm a great big cheapo, so I always get outbid! Love all of your plaid. It looks great any time of year, but in the Fall and Winter it really seems to shine!

I love your plaids, not sure what it is about a red plaid that says Christmas to me, but maybe its the fact that Queen Victoria, whose husband brought us the German Christmas tree, had a home in Scotland where they were able to live their most familish life. The castle there is decorated with plaids, and the children wore kilts ... can't you just imagine celebrating Christmas in Scotland?
