The candy man can! Or at my house it’s the candy gram. Yup, my grandies call me grammy or grams for short.
Containers await to be filled with homemade candy. Dishes ready for the sweet treats.
As much as I love decorating with vintage items I also love the bright and cheery side of Christmas.
So for that reason the family room and kitchen are going all “Sugar and Spice” this year. Oh, but of course I love throwing in a little bit of old with the new.
This made me laugh when I spied it at an estate sale. I’m sure someone made it. For $1 I had to bring it home.
Who better to stand guard over the goodies than a thrift find blow mold Santa?
Notice the linen table runner? $5 at the same estate sale. Now that’s SWEET!
The mantel is decorated with ‘Sugar and Spice’ I gave it a little picmonkey snow.
And here it is without the snow.
Candy, cookies, cupcakes and more. . .enough to delight the kid in all of us.
I need more gumdrops in the sucker jar. I went to the store and forgot to buy them. Ever do that? Forget to buy what you went for? Am I getting old or what?
The tinsel garland is vintage. I bought it last year from Star Mill Antiques.
More sweet treats on the hearth.
I made 4 of these gingerbread girls years ago. Three of them I gave as gifts.
I made one mistake with this mantel. Can you see it? It needs some height in the middle. Wishing I had put my old window up there. But honestly right now I’m just ready to call it done. Now maybe tomorrow it will be a different story. lol! I am always tweaking.
One thing that drives me nuts about pics of my mantel is the fireplace. See how it looks like there’s moisture in there? It’s been like that since we bought the house. I don’t notice it until I see a pic. Anyone know how to fix that? Doesn’t look like it comes apart.
Sure hope this will make ‘visions of sugar plums dance in your head!”
Sweet Dreams!
Jann

Your theme is the best! I used to love buying those JUMBO candy sticks that you have on the mantel. I'm still a little tempted every year! lol
I love your little elf candy jar holding the candy corn too! Really, it's all just great!
Erica :)
p.s. my parent's fireplace does that too!
Hi there, a wonderful blog post this week!! Thanks for hosting the party - I'm joining in again this week!! Thanks and enjoy your weekend! J9 x
All looks great! I did a fun snack area this year just cause I'm a new grandma. She won't be here for the holidays, we are going there. Little ones sure can bring the child out in you and it makes the holidays so fun. The elf jar is hilarious!
Farmhouse hugs,
Cindy
Your decorations are gorgeous!! I love the sugar plum theme. I sort of have sugar plum theme going on in the master bedroom. That is the room where I used red and white and green.
In my main living area and sunroom, I used the brown and gold tones. I have a mixture of Christmas color themes going on in my home this year!
I love those large cookies on the mantel. Love all the "sweet" decor. I like vintage too, but we have to have some bright red and green for the kids.
I had to ask myself if that chocolate cake was real or not but I then convinced myself it was not. Or else I would have wanted to jump through the computer to get a piece! lol
I love your displays! They are all so cheerful and colorful! :)

Love the mantle! I had to quit putting candy into pretty jars...guess why.
The little elf container is priceless!
Reading this has made me hungry! :)
Cute!!! Love your decorations! J9 x
Yummy. I can remember ribbon candy that my parents always put out but cannot find it anywhere.
I loved my dad's homemade fudges.
What a cute theme, Jann. I really think it is just darling. I love your gingerbread girl. That is really cute. Blessings to you- I am still tweaking, too. xo Diana
Very sweet indeed! Mixing the old with new is what I do, too! ♥
I very rarely eat candy but my husbane and best friend love lollies so they never go to waste, chocolate is my thing.
Your gingerbread girl is very sweet.
Merle.....
What a happy post from a happy place. Sugar and spice and everything nice!

Hi Jann... sooo sweet and cute!... I would love to visit and just snack away!... I have some of those darling gingerbread girls I bought years ago at a local boutique... remember when the Quilted Bear did boutiques?... xoxo Julie Marie
Jann,
I love your candy themed mantel! It reminds me of making a gingerbread house with the kids. What a fun theme and you have pulled it all together perfectly! Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!

I love your candy-themed mantel! What fun....and those snowflakes in the background add just the right touch, did you make them yourself? Your grandkids must love visiting "Candyland" at grandma's house! :)

Everything looks like such fun! I love all of the bright colors. And the little pixie is just adorable. I collect the old ones but they are hard to find! Happy Holidays!
I suddenly have a craving for a Christmas cookie!! I love the cookies and treats all across the mantel, looks really yummy!
I think it's appropriate to simply say you're home is so very sweet! :)
Oh how the grand kids will remember this. It is better than sugar plum fairies. Are those real cookies on the mantle? I am pretty sure I would come home to some half eaten decorations at my house.
