SEW in Love with Spring!

Living in a state that you easily see all four seasons I do my quarterly task of swapping out my quilts.

It’s SEW easy to see that Spring is my favorite season.  I have made so many Springtime quilts.

a couple are Easter themed while the others just Spring.

This ‘Chocolate Bunnies’ quilt drapes from my living room couch.

Here’s a couple of close ups of the bunnies.  This was my first and last needle turned applique.

This small bunny quilt hangs on the rail leading to our upstairs.

A few years ago, my friends and I entered some quilts in a local show.  This won best of it’s category (baby quilts).  That was a real shocker!  Especially since we didn’t even know they gave out ribbons.

This quilt in my family room is one of my favorite quilts.  I adore the colors and the sweet flowers.  I cuddle up with it to watch t.v. at night.

Are you still with me?  Hang in, there is more!

IMG_0298

Don’t you love the soft pastels of Spring?  This one is in my entry along with the chenille pillow I made.

IMG_0299

I have a few stacked in my blue cabinet.  Some will be displayed better after I put away the bunny quilts.

IMG_0305

Pics of them opened up.

This garden themed quilt hangs on a rack upstairs.  This was a group exchange with the ‘Dog Kennel Quilt Guild’.  I did this before I really knew how to quilt.  My block was the embroidered one.  I also added the vine around the basket.

IMG_0311

I’m sure that right about now you’re saying, “Enough Already”!

I’ll quickly show you two other Spring themed quilts.  These I will pull out after Easter.  The colors are not pastel, but still Springy.

IMG_0314

I love the chenille, ragged edge flowers, and buttons.  Also adore the colors in this quilt.

IMG_0312

This quilt has birds here and there throughout.

IMG_0313

Are you still with me?

Now that’s a whole lot of quilts!  Like I said, “easy to see that I love Spring”

Doesn’t this make you want to go SEW a SPRING quilt? lol!

Think maybe I should.  I haven’t (completed) anything since last Fall.  Did I mention that I have a couple kits for cute Spring quilts?

hugs,

Jann

What a beautiful collection of quilts, Jann. And the fact that you made them is even better. I have always wanted to make one, started taking sewing lessons at home but it became too expensive and I gave up my machine when I moved. I love the chocolate bunny one and the birds, of course. xo

OMGosh- I used to quilt and haven't in a long time. You have some gorgeous quilts and I can certainly see why that baby quilt won the prize. I love the pillow with the flower on it, too. What a beautiful collection- xo Diana

Everytime I see quilts I am sad that I don't know how to do it....I would love a springy one to use as a throw...I never get tired of seeing them...show some more!

Every one of those quilts make me wish to learn to quilt - they are all so pretty and all in the sorts of colours and tones I like. Well done!

There is no such thing as too many quilts!!
You have done a wonderful job on those. I love the fabrics you used. I adore each one.

My mom was a quilter and I know she would of enjoyed seeing your quilts.
Do be sure to get back to your projects since you said you haven't finished anything since last Fall. Mom left several quilts unfinished and I know she wanted to do them so badly but just didn't feel well enough before she passed. Listen to me saying that! LOL. I am the Queen of Unfinished Projects! I sure don't have room to speak! LOL

Oh yes, still here! How could I leave a beautiful display of handmade quilts?!!! I’m not a quilter but a lover of quilts. My grandmother made quilt tops and had someones else quilt them. My mother-in-law has quilts she made displayed around her house like you. I love that look! You are so talented and very creative with your patterns. Thanks for sharing Jann.
Happy Easter.

Jann, all of your quilts really are SEW pretty. It would be difficult to decide which is the most lovely. The Bunny themed quilt with turned applique is wonderful. It is so intricate and colorful. I just love the different prints you used. Great job on all!

I have been sewing for decades, but I've only made a few patchwork pillows. I've recently been buying quilt books and fabrics and hope to find the time to make quilts for our grandchildren, and me, too. You've created some beautiful quilts and have inspired me to just do it!!

Your quilts add a cozy look to your home. :)

Hi Jann,
Such a nice variety of sizes and shapes. I have always wanted to make an Amish-style quilt with jewel colors and black, no prints. I have several patterns I have yet to sew, and I have one half finished top...need to get on it! haha. I also want to make one of those tee-shirt quilts from all my daughter's tee shirts collected from clubs, school, etc.
