Ever since I found these cute plates at a thrift store I have wanted to host an ice cream party with the grands.
That was over a year ago and it still hadn't happened. So a couple of weeks ago I decided that I would set a date and hold a 'Back to School Ice Cream Bash'.
as
luck would have it, right after I decided to do it I stopped into our local thrift and what happened to jump out at me? These darling ice cream bowls.
Aren't they SA-WEET?
and it didn't stop there. . .I also found these metal cone ice cream holders. Never been used, new in the box; I might add.
This evening we had all of our kids and grands over to celebrate 'Back to School'. I don't know who is more excited, the parents or the kids. lol!
I pulled any dishes that I thought would work for this joyous occasion. Both old and new.
I have had the yellow ice cream scoop ever since we were first married.
Festive paper flower rosettes were hung from the pergola.
Some filled theirs to the brim and added lots of toppings. . .
while others were satisfied with just a little vanilla.
But everyone was happy!
And you can bet yours truly fixed herself a sweet bowl with a banana at the bottom. YUM! Just the way I like it!
We didn't hear much screaming going on when we were all enjoying our delicious ice cream creations.
We played a couple of 'back to school' themed games afterwards and a bit of screaming went on then.
Wishing all the kids heading back to school
A very happy school year!
hugs,
Jann
