Tuesday's Tour. . .Peak Trail Hike

Hello my friends,

Just a reminder that there will be no SYC this week.  Looking forward to having you share again on June 17th.

I haven't posted a 'Tuesday's Tour' for quite some time so I thought I would share a wonderful hike hubby and I took on Sunday.

Peaks Trail
in
Breckenridge, Colorado.

This trail will take you all the way to Frisco.  We only hiked about 3 miles of it.

It was very wooded and we crossed a lot of small streams.

In some areas the water flowed gently, but in others it was running fast.

I've always had a thing for paths.  Love them in the garden, so why not in the mountains?

I'm Always on the look out for fun finds along the trail.

Love finding moss and lichen covered rocks!

How about some pointy pinecones?  I brought one home to add to my 'memories' box.

We were about 3 weeks early for the wildflower season, but we sighted a few early blooms.

There were remnants of snow here and there.  Like us they had a very mild winter and have just gotten recent snowfall in the mountains.

We saw the back of lots of cabins.  It looked as though this area has been cleared for building more.

After hiking quite a while we came upon this table and wished we had packed a picnic.

We were away from home and didn't attend our regular church meeting, but we certainly felt God's presence here!

hugs,
Jann

We love hiking, too! Our favorite trails are along the Blue Ridge Parkway and locally at Falls Lake. You can even hike NC's Mountains to Sea Trail from near here. Enjoyed the photos. Enjoyed seeing YOU!

Thank you for another great trip to one of my parts of the country. My niece has a cabin in Hartsel, Col. so we have been to this area several times.

What a wonderful hike that must have been! Such lovely trails...nothing like the mountains! And you are right...no better place to meet with God...except well, maybe the sea shore :)

IT IS SO NICE TO GO OUT INTO GOD'S BEAUTIFUL WORLD AND ENJOY IT. AND THE LITTLE SURPRISES ALONG THE WAY--BIRDS, BUTTERFLIES, CATERPILLARS,--IT ALL ADDS TO THE ENJOYMENT.

Oh what a beautiful hike you shared! We have been to Colorado several times, and the views of the mountains all around are so amazing! What a wonderful thing to be able to hike up into the mountains with your hubby, and just enjoy the beauty the Lord created! I can imagine the fields covered in wildflowers in a few weeks too... our wildflowers are out in amazing displays here, and it is just a thrill to see them all. I enjoyed the hike with you very much, and hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Colorado :)

Enjoy your time away with your hubby, Jann. My late beloved and I always enjoyed hiking together, too. We loved being at Rocky Mountain National Park and hiking the many trails there. Your photos are beautiful!

I loved this post. I am from Alabama, but I got to visit Colorado more than half a dozen times while growing up. I miss the beautiful mountains and the snow we always got to see on our summer visits.
Thanks so much for sharing the "trail" with me.
