Hello my friends,
I'm sure that many of you are busy decking your halls like I am. It feels as though I am so close (to being done), yet so far away! I have little messes here and there that just need to be cleaned up and a few more boxes to go through.
While I have been busy inside Old Man Winter has been busy outside! We woke up to it snowing and it continued all day long leaving us with a magical 'Winter Wonderland'.
Did you know that I love the farmhouse style? Yup, if I was building or buying a new home it would be a farmhouse.
Well, not happening; but I can still add a bit of farmhouse décor to my home. It just so happens that our house is built on what originally was the old "McDaniel" farm.
Look what the wind blew in. . .
Can you tell from this photo what is adorning our bedroom wall?
A giant windmill blade.
I fell head over heels in love with it when I saw it on Decor Steals
I've clipped old Christmas cards from my kids to the blades. I save them because I love seeing how much the grands have grown
over the years.
I also added a bell here and there for a touch of whimsy.
To carry on the farmhouse theme I placed our little silver tree inside an old coal bucket.
I also filled a milk bucket with faux white flowers to sit on the bench at the foot of the bed.
Burlap and ticking bring farmhouse thoughts to my mind. I made the pillows 4 or 5 years ago and haven't used them for some time.
I'm loving the touches of farmhouse style in our
Christmas bedroom!

I would be so happy in your bedroom, I don't think I'd ever want to get out of bed! I love your quilts and the windmill is inspirational! But the bit of inspiration I'm going to do this very minute, as soon as I send my comment, is add a bit of silver to my coal pot, which is filled with herbs. I brought it in to winter and it still has its fall leaves tucked in. No more! A pretty bow and some silvery stuff to foof it up for the season! Fa la la la la!
It's fun to have a bit of the season in the bedroom. Really like you coal bucket tree. I am hoping for some snow here in IL but does not look like it yet!

Oh, Jann! Your yard looks positively magical in the snow today! Hilltop looks right at home all nestled in a blanket of white. I love all of your farmhouse touches. If I were starting over, I would also choose farmhouse style! Such a fresh look, filled with touches of the past! Happy decorating! ♡

That is so perfect! What a great picture that would make to be framed with the snow! Your guest room looks so cozy and cute with your holiday accents. That windmill blade over the bed is so cute especially with the little cards attached. I'm behind at getting my holiday decor up since we were in Pennsylvania for a family event. It looks so pretty! I love décor steals and must have missed that one. How great it is for hanging special cards and things. I always get ideas from your wonderful decorating and now I know what I am going to do with my huge graniteware pot I almost sold....I am going to put my red vintage tree in it!!

Jann I am so jealous of your snow! Growing up in the south we didn't see a lot of snow and I just love it. And your home looks so lovely decorated for Christmas...the snow just makes it perfect. Please throw a snowball for me ;-)
