Texas Bound. . .Share Your Cup Will Return in Two Weeks

Hello my friends,
I'm a little late at getting this post out.  I had company today and then our youngest daughter came by for dinner and a visit.

Family comes first!  :)

Hubby and I are off first thing Thursday morning on a long road trip to Texas.  For that reason SYC will be on a two week break.  It will return on March 21st.

We are heading into Bluebonnet heaven!!

I am so excited!  I have wanted to see the bluebonnets in bloom for years.  We have planned some fun stops along the way.

But the highlight of the trip is that we signed up for a Bluebonnet Photography workshop in the town of Brenham.

I would be happy if I could take photos even half as gorgeous
 as any of these!

Jason Weingart is an amazing photographer that has put this two day workshop together.  I'm also hoping to come home with better camera skills.

Originally, I thought I would still choose features from last weeks SYC party, but just wasn't able to get all of the links visited so sorry about that!

Wishing you all a happy March!

hugs,

Jann, I am excited about your trip. I hope you get to see some bluebonnets. It's a bit early. I haven't seen any in bloom yet. We've had a cold, wet winter. My patch is thick, just no sign of blooms just yet. Have a fun time.

Hi Jann. I'm a Texan and I never get tired of bluebonnets. That workshop sounds interesting. I thought it was a little early for our bluebonnets, but guess Spring has arrived. We are south of Dallas and love going 4 hours from here to see bluebonnets around Easter.

Love Brenham and all the history. We went there last year for Valentine's and drove all different directions to visit some of the history and neat places around there. Stop and have some Blue Bell ice cream at the creamery in Brenhan. There is most always a half gallon in our freezer.

This sounds like so much fun!! It's a little early for the bluebonnets so I hope you get to see some. Maybe in the Hill Country they are ahead of us....

If you make it to the Dallas area please send me a message. :)

What fun for you and your hubby to take a trip, Jann. I hope you get to see some bluebonnets. Maybe in the Hill Country, they'll be blooming, but in the Dallas area, it's usually in April. If you get near Dallas, let me know! I would love to meet up.

I live in the Texas Hill Country, and bluebonnet season is the BEST! Washington County/Brenham area should be wonderful this year, they have gotten good rain. Enjoy your trip and be safe!

Jann,
If you include Fort Worth/Dallas area in your road trip, please let me know. There are several Texas bloggers who would love to meet you. We could arrange to have lunch one day.

I am not a native Texan; I was born in Alabama. The landscape of the two states are very different, and when I first came to Texas as a young bride, I missed the Alabama flowers. Then spring arrived in Texas, and I discovered the native prairie flowers, of which bluebonnets are the undisputed queen. Each spring I look forward to their return and scan the roadsides and pastures. Spotting the first bluebonnet of the season is always a thrilling day with lots of sharing with family and friends the exact spot of the sighting.

I hope the bluebonnets are in full bloom for you, and you get some breathtaking photos of them. Safe travels.
