A day does not go by that I don’t take a stroll thru the gardens. Even the shortest amount of time does wonders for my soul.
Yesterday I noticed how large my Ferns were starting to get and that a few new babies were born. Yeah, I can’t wait until the entire foundation on the East side of my house is covered in these feathery beauties!
My Ferns hold a special place in my heart because they were starts taken from my mothers garden. I first got starts for my Highland home. When we moved to Alpine I brought a few with me.
I picked a few of the fronds and placed them in my newly purchased turquoise bottles. I bought all three of them for under $4. Great find don’t you think? I love how they look next to my Silver Sage painted wall.
My fern plate I have had for a couple of years. The bottles I bought last Fall at T.J. Maxx.
Today I added a picture of my mother as a child to the vignette. I love this picture of her!
When we first moved into our home I picked some of the Ferns and pressed them between pages of a book. I wanted some botanical prints in my guest bath.
This Ostrich Fern was from my mom’s starts.
The Japanese Painted Fern is one that I purchased.
My mother was a sweet, kind, and talented lady. She had such a fun sense of humor. I miss her dearly every day! Some day we will go galavanting together in heaven. That was her favorite thing to do with us girls.
Happy Mothers Day Mom!
Hugs,
Jann

Love the ferns!
Oh Jann, the tears are just running down my face... you and I share so many of the same sentiments about things... and I know how very special your mama was and is to you... I use the present tense, because our mamas are still are mamas... and always will be... your ferns are just beautiful, and precious memories pressed carefully into each one... I love that your mama, like mine, had a fun sense of humor... perhaps they are chatting right this minute in Heaven and smiling down on their little girls... thank you for sharing your special post to your mama... what an adorable photo of her as a little girl... wishing you a blissful Mothers Day, doing all of the things you love... I start each morning out in my garden too... somehow, I just knew you did as well... xoxo Julie Marie
What a sweet tribute to your mom.
Happy Mother's Day to you!!
Jann, I understand oh too well. I wish I could go run around with my Mom, miss her so ...I hate mothers day because it reminds me of my loss. Funny my ferns I cherish came from her house..but even better they originally came from 1515...guess I should take some back, there isn't any there anymore? they are in my header.
Hugs to you...maybe our Moms are out running around in heaven?
What a unique and moving tribute to your mom. I hope you have a great Mother's Day! And I love the word galavanting.
I love the ferns and how they connect you to your Mom. You are right-someday you will be galavanting around with your Mom! xo Diana
What a tender post, Jann...touching connection and fun vignette. Happy Mothers Day~

Very sweet post today, Jann! What a nice photo of your mom - and I love what you did with the pressed ferns! I am so lucky to still have my mom - she is 81 this June and still very busy with her life. They are actually coming to visit me in 2 weeks since DH can't travel for a while yet! That's a wonderful mother's love! Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs!
A sweet tribute to your mom. I've always wanted to grow ferns... just have never gotten around to it. :)
what a powerful tribute to your mom!
those ferns are so lovely!
i really enjoyed my visit here.
hope you're having a great weekend!
Hi Jann! Diane here again :) Happy Mother's day to you and your mom out there. I know she's been watching over you and is always proud of what you have achieved.
As a kid who grew up in the city, how I wish we also had the garden I could always visit every morning. You are sooo lucky to have one. Those framed ferns are also something to love too.
What a sweet picture of your Mom. Love all your ferns, so glad you have them as a reminder of your Mom. It is like having a little piece of her in your home.
Found you from TTT, and am a new follower - looking forward to visiting often.
Thanks so much for being a part of my 100th Seasonal Sundays.

My Mom has always enjoyed ferns too, so I think this was a wonderful post to honor your mother and show your love for the same things as her.
Each of your fern items are just wonderful, but I especially like them in the little turquoise jars. Blue and green are so pretty together.
Thanks so much for joining us at Your Cozy Home Party. I'll be visiting your party later this week.
The ferns are so pretty. Get vignette and wall display. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
