Creating Christmas Party–Vintage Décor & Give Away

Hello, and welcome!  I am so excited that it is my turn to host our Creating Christmas Party!  This party will remain open for one week.  I had so much fun sharing with Cindy and Tracie.  I want to thank them both for joining me.

Santa button 2

I will also be sharing this post with Timewashed for Blissful Whites Wednesday.

Next week we will return to our usual “Share Your Cup”

I will be showing both last weeks and this weeks features then.

One of my favorite things to do is mix vintage items with new.  Because of that I have them spread throughout my home.  For today’s party I will be sharing my living room with you.

Since we redid this room last Winter this is the first time I have decorated it for Christmas. I had so much fun!  Warning, lots of pics.  I am even saving the tree for a separate post.  Whew!  Thank goodness!

I’ve mixed Vintage items with mercury glass.  Keeping this room in mostly silver and white with a pop of  color here and there.

My hammered iron tray was a yard sale find.  I love the vintage plate with the picture of a church and mini tart tin.

IMG_9301

I made the burlap pillows on the sofa using old trims and buttons passed down from my mother.

IMG_9309

IMG_9310

This old lamp that I added old doilies, buttons, and lace to the shade makes a fun place to display some of our Christmas cards.

A few of my favorite vintage finds in this corner are, of course, my chippy table, The tiered stand made from old plates holding shiny brites,  the star that I dolled up with a bit of paper and trinkets, the Teleflora bowl planted with paper whites, and the felt stocking found at the D.I. for 50 cents.  Notice the beaded snowflake?

IMG_9304

Love that old frog too!  A few of the ornaments are from hubby and I’s first Christmas tree.

IMG_9305

I just hung my dotted Swiss curtains.  Simple and inexpensive from Ikea. The fun ball was made by my hairdressers daughter, Sierra.

Everyone has to have a few Santa items, don’t you agree?

IMG_9330

IMG_9331

A rustic stool holds an old birdcage filled with gorgeous aqua shiny brites.  While a pillar is home to my D.I. find Johnson Bros. pitcher.  I love anything architectural!

IMG_9328

My favorite thing in the room is the shelf my hubby made from half of an old door and three corbels.  I purchased the mirror made from salvaged pieces, love it!

IMG_9323

I hung this years book page wreath on the mirror.

IMG_8555

I made the music sheet tree after seeing so many fun ones in blogland.  I found the old shutters for 50 cents ea.  Painted them aqua, sanded and glazed them for an older feel.  I love my Santa and sleigh!

IMG_9337

IMG_9322

IMG_9318

I made this wreath last year from old rolled book pages.  I adorned it with one of my mothers earrings.

IMG_9320

I bought the old Christmas card box and the plate from Star Mill Antiques.  I love the image of the church and even though I think the plate was originally a wedding plate, Silver Bells is my favorite Christmas song.

IMG_9314

My cabinet made from an old window has a few vintage items tucked in amongst my collection of red dishes.

And here’s looking in through the French doors from the entry.

I’m sure like most of you, I love me a little ‘Vintage Christmas’!

Now, I can’t wait to see your vintage style.  It can be anything old, reproductions, or vintage inspired created by you.

Hugs and wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

Oh my gosh, I just about forgot about the give away. . .that would not be a good thing.

There’s two parts to it.  Here’s the first one:  A darling wreath purchased from my hairdressers Harvest Moon boutique.  Held every Christmas at the Emporium Salon.  All that makes this wreath Christmas is the jingle bell.  Easily removed, or covered with a flower and a gorgeous thing for everyday!

IMG_9334

All you have to do is leave a comment and you’re in on the give away.  Link up (mention that you did in your comment) and I’ll toss your name in a second time.

Part #2

I would like to thank those who helped us advertise about our ‘Creating Christmas’ party.  If you put our button on your sidebar tell me in a comment and you will also be included in a drawing for this sweet bottle brush tree.  Now folks, you will be on the honor code. I have seen it on a few blogs.  And sorry, no it doesn’t count if you add it today.
