Making a Scene!

Hi folks, just wondering, have you ever been out shopping and noticed one of those people that like to make a scene?  You know just what I’m talking about, right?

Well, I must confess.  I am one of those people that likes to make a scene.  Luckily, I do it in the privacy of my own home.

Oh, must admit, I would make a scene at your house too if you’d let me.

Let me tell you about the last few scenes I made.  Here goes, are your ready for this?

I guess I don’t always do them at home.  This first one took place in a flower shop.

A vintage house and church are the background for this Woodsy Wonderland. But look, what’s that over there in the right corner?  A sweet little Nativity.

IMG_9361

Oh, and look what the children built for us behind the church.

I carefully opened the lid for a peek inside. Let’s quickly close it.  We wouldn’t want the deer to escape.

IMG_9364

Aren’t they sweet?  A couple of bucks and fawn.  A little time worn, but I love them!

IMG_9360

Thank goodness the next scene I made wasn’t quite as big.  Just a simple ceramic church, a couple of white bucks, and one giant snowflake.  Who cares if the deer are as big as the church?

But did I stop there?  Oh no, it wasn’t enough to make just two scenes.  I had to go for a third.  Are you embarrassed for me yet?

IMG_9369

Oh, I have seen people make a scene with Santa before.  Mostly children, crying and such.  Guess I couldn’t get by without making one with that jolly old elf.

And yes, sometimes I make a mini scene.  Like this shaker.  My friends and I made 20 of these for a club favor. Now, that was quite a site, 5 of us making a scene at the same time.  Some of the tops were glittered  (using Modge Podge) with turquoise glitter.  So, so cute!  S & P shakers from Wal-mart, Epsom salts from the dollar store, a mini tree and voila!  We decorated each one differently.  Using whatever we had in our stash.

Luckily, that’s all of the scenes I am going to make for now.  Thank goodness too, because it just started to snow.

Because I love to make scenes I keep my eyes out for little figures whenever I go to an antique or thrift shop.

But, I do not just make any scene.  It has to be a thrifty scene.  One day I spied the cutest set of three little Halloween figures.  They wanted $17 for them.  Now, that just about caused me to make a real scene. lol!  Sorry to say, they didn’t come home with me.  I’ve got to have a better deal than that to make a scene!

How about you?  Are you one of those people who likes to make a scene?

Hugs,

Jann

I'll be making a scene this very day. It's time for the snow village to go up so the grands can have fun rearranging it!

Haha, you had me there at the beginning, Jann. I have made a couple of scenes this year, one of a snowman with his skis with a tree behind him and one of a house with a horse drawn carriage going by. Mine aren't quite as tiny as yours.
Yours are absolutely adorable! I like them very much!
Hugs, Cindy

Jann, your three scenes go together so perfectly with the garland pulling them together. You are so creative with your scenes ... no one would mind if you made a scene in public!

Cute post!

Those are all adorable. I think the Santa is my favorite. I think I'll be on the lookout for cute stuff, so I can make my own scene!
