Today I found something that I loved at first sight. The price was right so I had to bring it home. I could hardly wait to show it to you my friends! I really wasn’t planning on doing another post until tomorrow. Ha, ha, so much for that plan.
I went to a Christmas home tour sponsored by Star Mill Antiques. One of the homes had a little retail store. Just one look and it was love at first sight. My sister, Jeanne spied it first. Lucky for me she didn’t want it. I’m calling it my ‘Christmas Cottage Door’.
A cute wreath and just the right amount of chippiness charm!
My cousin asked me, “Where are you going to put it?” I quickly replied, “I don’t know”. Oh, but I knew I would find a spot. Originally I had thought in my living room.
But I tried it here and loved it! I have never liked how you could see cords behind the base that our t.v. sits on in the family room.
It’s only when you walk in from the entry. Maybe nobody else notices it, but it always bugs me.
Now look, no cords! Hee-hee!
And here’s the big picture from the family room. This is a huge 20 ft. wall. Still tweaking it. Always have my eyes out for things that might work. So far I love my windows but just needs a little something. Not sure what. Really, I don’t love the t.v. just out in the open, but what’s a girl to do? Oh, and guess what I asked for Christmas? All of my woodwork and doors painted white, can’t wait!
Hubby and I were discussing this wall the other day. Wondered about doing the entire wall with a beadboard built in. What do you think? Any suggestions?
Notice the green and blue showing through match the colored glass in my big window. Match made in heaven!
Hubbies gone fishin. Looks like I got a good catch myself today.
How about you? Have you found anything fun lately?
Hugs,
Jann

So fun when you find little treasures to feather your nest :)
Perfect chippy delightfulness! Great camouflage too.

Oh, I would have snatched that up in not time flat. Love it! If you are trying to take the attention off the tv, you may have to do a built in. We did and it helps some.
Hi Jann! I love the unique wreath and I'm thinking of copying it haha
Oh love it Jann. I would have brought it home too.
Hi Jann, I always hate looking at cords, too. Doesn't fit in with the farmhouse theme! I love your door, Jean
Nothing like a photograph to show us what "showing" in our homes. We walk past stuff day after day and never see it, especially wires. I love the old door.
I don't know about bead board on that big wall but I do think it is too white for me. It seems to just float there. A warm color to anchor it would be nice.
Love that door-good find!
I also despise cords showing
so this is a great fix.
Love that door! I think I could use one in my living room :) I am going to have to keep my eyes open.
Hi Jann... love love love your Christmas cottage door!... and how fun come Spring, it can become your Garden Cottage Door!... so you are painting those gorgeous woods white???... oooh... I am going to be the only lady in all of blogland that still loves natural woods... and hasn't painted everything white... I guess I just dance to a different drum... but hey!... that's me!... xoxo Julie Marie
Ooooo - what a perfect door and a great way to hide the cords!
Awesome find, Jann and Yay! No cords! I hate those things! ♥
I love the whole vignette! All of the colors look great together and are very festive.
Thank you for stopping by to visit my drop cloth swag. I truly appreciate it!

Love it!!! I've used a chippy shutter for the same purpose.
If you don't want to build in the wall to hide the TV, have you considered a prim chippy, wall hung cabinet with a door? If your hubby is handy, he might be able to built it. Then I'd paint the wall a warmer color.
You room looks lovely decorated for Christmas.
What a treasure you've found, Jann! I love the chippy detail and that little metal hook. What an eye you have for spotting things to compliment your home. The pale worn green is ideal for Christmas.
I'm weird about cords showing, too. Such a perfect solution!
I'm in agreement with your idea of beadboard for your large wall. It would compliment your little cottage door, don't you think?
I've been so crazy busy these past few weeks. I am having such fun today getting caught up. Your home is a sweet treat!
Big Christmas hugs,
Carolynn xo
