Passionate about Plaid!

Hello my friends,
I have always been a bit passionate about plaid.

Whenever I see it my heart starts to race.

I love it for Fall!

(plaid throws on the hearth ready for grabbing and cuddling up in)

I have been collecting plaid thermoses and picnic tins for a few years.  Recently I added this cute lunch pail.

But man, oh man, have you been shopping lately?
Plaid is, (to say the least); Hot, Hot, Hot!

Went to Target a couple of weeks ago and it was running rampant. Lol!

I have had so much fun adding to my collection of mostly
plaid thermoses.

I especially love using my plaids at Christmas.  I have fun switching them around from year to year.

In '2013' I used them on my porch for a 'plaid tidings' theme.

(I made the pillows out of a thrift find dress)

(we printed a few of these photos for our Christmas cards.  Silly, but fun!)

Then in January I had a Plaid Picnic in our back yard.

Last Christmas the plaids moved into our bedroom

I've already decided where the plaids will end up this year and I can hardly wait!

As many of you know, I have been fighting off a bad head cold this week.  So the other night I decided to make a plaid garland.

I added bits of lace, because even plaid likes to
dress up once in a while.  :)

I pulled from my scraps and my sweet friend, Amanda; and cousin, Betty gave me some of theirs.

I simply cut 1 1/2" x 22" strips and folded them in half over a piece of rope that I had on hand, slipped the ends
back through and pulled tight.

You could just knot it also if you like.  My only regret is that I didn't do it over a string of lights.  It would be
so pretty all lit up at night!  My friend, Joyce did that with a garland she made.

I hung it up to trim it and then tucked it into the closet for a few weeks.  It keeps tempting me to get it back out.  Hee-hee!

After all, not only am I passionate about plaid, I'm really a bit mad!

(my pinterest board is appropriately named just that)

hugs,

I love all your plaids.

I love plaids, but I have never used them much in decor. I think I need to find some plaid fabric.

WOW, Jann- you have so many awesome plaid items! Holey moley!

I *adore* that pic of you and your fella. ♥

I had that red and black plaid lunch box when I was a little girl. Wish I'd have kept it but there was a time when it was sooooo not cool. Heh - if we wait long enough everything comes back desirable, doesn't it?

Glad I am too old to wear lime green monster bell bottoms though. Ha. Brought my wrist last day of school way back when tripping over those stupid things.

A plaid picnic in the snow.....sounds like fun....if not a little chilly. =) I don't know which plaid basket or thermos I like best....they are all lovely. Love that plaid pumpkin. The photo of you and your fellow sitting on your wintry porch is fabulous.

Jann, I have always, always loved plaid since I was a little girl. I wore plaid skirts with matching sweaters for YEARS and my kids wore a lot of plaid when they were little, too. It is fun to see it back "in style" again! I love everything you have and have done. That garland is REALLY cute. Wonder if you could still wind a string of light through it somehow..that WOULD be cute! xo Diana

Jann you are such a doll. I love all of your plaid vignettes and the holiday pic of you and hubby are awesome. Plaid always takes me back to the first dress that I made in Home Ec. I learned how to match the plaids. yuck! I have never made another plaid dress. I hope that you are feeling better. At least you got your cold out of the way for the holidays! lol Have a wonderful Sunday. Hugs, Jo
