Share Your Cup #259

Hello and welcome to Share Your Cup, (SYC for short).

The party where you share the things that make you happy.

It's what I call, "filling your cup".

I am definitely feeling happy today!  You might recall that last week I mentioned that life had thrown me a bit of a curve ball.

Honestly, I wasn't sure if I would even share this with my readers.  I like my blog to be happy and don't want to dwell on the negative.  The more I thought about it, the more I realized that so many of you are dear friends to me!

Yes, I've met only a few of you in real life, but I feel that I have built a bond of love and dear friendship!

Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Yes, the terrible 'C' word.  They found it during my yearly mammogram.  My family physician  said this was a testimonial to mammograms.  It's so small that it would never have been found with simply a breast exam.

So ladies, get your mammograms!!
I am so thankful for the Dr. that did the ultra sound.  He just about sent me on my way, but he said there was one area that was mildly suspicious.

I saw the Oncologist yesterday and this is what I found out.

I learned that Cancer has a grade and a stage.  I was told I was a stage 2, but it really was a grade 2.  Stage can only be determined after the lump is removed.  She said she  would guess I am a stage 1.  I will not need chemo or a mastectomy unless they find it in my lymph nodes.  I will have radiation every day for 6 weeks.  She wants me to have a MRI to make sure there is nothing in the left breast and to see the lump better.  She also is having me do a gene test because it is in my family.  I will only have  breast removed if that comes back positive.

I am fighting back and saying No to cancer in my lymph nodes!

Now let's take a look at what I shared last week.

On Sunday hubby, our youngest daughter, and I experienced

I also shared my recent finds in

Now for the features from SYC #258:

Joanna from Gingham Gardens shared her love for junk garden vignettes.

Carol from Art and Sand shared her fabulous new plate rack shelves that gave her an extra foot of space.

Jo from Annes Attic shared her summer décor.  Love it, but the deer that she sketched as she watched it in her yard was so sweet!
Wonder if it really had flowers on it's antlers?  (wink)

I'm smiling because both Carol and Jo helped host SYC at one time.  No wonder I love their style!  :)

Carol from Comfort Spring shared the recipe for a yummy avocado and strawberry salad with honey balsamic vinaigrette.

Thanks so much for sharing and please grab my button if you were featured.

Now let's party!

1.  I would love for you to be a follower of Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson
2.  Link up a particular post and not your entire blog. Please limit your links to no more than three.
3.  Please have a back link to this post.  That way others will know where the party is.
Only those with a back link will be featured.
 4.  Please find time to visit at least two other participants.
It's a great way to find new friends!

After you link up, please come back and leave a comment.  They help to fill my cup!

I love the photo of you lying in the beautiful wildflowers. You deserve this bliss! A little over eight years ago, I got the same diagnosis that you did -- also as the result of my mammogram. Even then, the surgeon was amazed that the technician had spotted it and gotten better pictures of it. I had a bilateral mastectomy, no radiation, but six months of chemotherapy. I am happy to report that in October, it will be eight years since I finished my chemo. I hope you have clear lymph nodes and that everything that ensues goes well! I will keep you in my prayers. I also am glad you shared this news with us. I find it very cathartic to share my difficult woes. God Bless You! Smiles, Linda at Paper Seedlings

Hello my friend, yes, tho we've never met in person, I feel strongly that we are friends and kindred spirits. So sorry to hear about your health challenges but I know you will come through it just fine. Such a strange thing...I received a letter in the mail today from my doctor reminding me it was time for my mammogram. I almost tossed it, thinking it was unnecessary, no women in my family have had breast cancer, and then there you were making sure I have it done. Thank you. And all my best wishes for a speedy treatment and good health. Big hugs, Pat

Well I really hate it that you have breast cancer and I'm going to pray that when they look further it will be gone - because I do believe that miracles still happen. I am happy though that you shared this with us and that they caught it early. You are such a delightful person and I'm sure your attitude will carry you through.
Wishing you strength and peace. Patti

Oh, dear Jan, the last thing anyone wants to hear is a cancer diagnosis and I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I also am so grateful that modern medicine isn't what it used to be -- that there is more rapid detection, better treatment (if required) and far better prognoses than ever before. But it's still scary and it's still in your head. So I'm very, very glad that you shared it with your blog friends. I have found blogland to be the most supportive community ever. We build remarkable relationships with people we've never met and we care tremendously.

So please count on my support, along with others -- and loads of prayers for a good endgame and a quick on, too, so you can get back to losing some of the concern. Big hugs!

Hi Jann,
I am sorry to hear about you cancer diagnosis. How good that your doctor checked out that "mildly suspicious" area and was able to address the problem in it's earliest stage. I join with all the others here who will be keeping you in prayer. Through my years of blogging I have seen what an incredibly supportive group we have here.
Sending caring thoughts and a gentle hug your way this morning.

Jann, I am so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis but glad to hear that it is was caught at an early stage. Praying everything goes well, you have clear lymph nodes and no further treatment but the radiation is needed. You are in good hands - God has a plan.

You are such a strong, positive, beautiful woman, as evident in that adorable photo you shared! So sorry to hear about the diagnosis and holding you in my thoughts and prayers for the best possible outcome. ♥ xo

Good morning Jann. Blessing that you had your mammogram and the cancer was found at such an early stage. That is how mine was found too. Radiation is easier to deal with than a larger treatment plan and I will hope and pray for your as you go through your treatments. Hugs and Love.

Jann, you look beautiful among the wildflowers :) We are friends, that's the way I feel about my blogging sisters, too and I am so glad that you shared your news with us. When we know, we can pray and believe me I know that you will be in many sister's prayers all around the world. Blogging is a wonderful place to share and glean ideas, but it is also a connection of the heart. You are loved by many sister bloggers, that you will never meet in person, but that doesn't mean that we don't hold each other up in time of need. Laughing together, crying together . . . that's what friendship is all about.
You are in my prayers.
Connie :)

Jann, you have long been one of my very favorite bloggers. I just love your positive and joyful attitude, and despite this "curveball" that was far worse than anything I was expecting, you still have it! Like so many others, I'll be thinking of you each day over the coming weeks while you undergo your radiation treatments.

Jann, so glad you let us know so we can all be praying for you. We are your friends and we care. Attitude is a lot of fighting the big C and you have the right attitude. My mom said that 15 years ago when she was diagnosed. She said this is not going to stop me. She is still going strong. Take care.

Love, Hugs, Prayers,
Dianne

I will keep you in my thoughts. I guess you must be worried, but if things are taken at an early stage, as it seems to be the case, chances are that it'll only be a bad moment of your life.

Jann, I do wish you well and know you will beat cancer. I did it and so will you. Doctors and modern medicine is amazing today. Pamper yourself because you deserve it.

Thank you for hosting this party. I put a link back to your page, hopefully I did it right, but no promises.

Thanks again.

Ugh, Jann, I'm sorry you have to have this in your life. My Panoply sister J was dx'd in early 2015, stage 1, not in lymph nodes. She went through 23 radiation treatments (you'll get a tattoo of sorts ;)!), and other than an occasional tugging kind of pain on that side, she's herself. Praying yours gives the least amount of inconvenience to life and living as possible. As statistics go, 1 in 8 gets it. My sister jokingly says she took one for the team (there are 7 girls and my mom would make 8 in our immediate family).

Jann, I'm glad you shared. We do have a sisterhood of wonderful bloggers that will pray for you and support you. I admire your attitude and will pray for you.
I love the doll trunk from the 50's. I had one that was blue. Brings back sweet childhood memories.

Oh Jann I know how scary this must all seem but the information you've shared sounds like a perfect caught it early one. Prayers for you and that this will all go smoothly.
We had a red doll case like this in the attic that must have been one of my older sister's. I still have my barbie cases and barbies from the 1960's! You look so cute laying in the flowers on the trail!

I'm really glad that you decided to share with all of us, Jan! We are all friends here, even though we haven't met. I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. It sounds like you are already getting very thorough care... right from the start. Your strong, positive attitude is so important!! Sending healing hugs and prayers, sweet friend. Please keep us updated. 💗

Jann, I am saying NO to cancer and fighting back with you! That is definitely the right attitud!. Cindy let me know the news and I was so glad to hear the cancer was found so early. I was in the medical profession specifically dealing with cancer in my younger years, and I can tell you that finding any cancer early is the key--that and a great attitude like yours. I will have you in my prayers, my friend! Sending Farmhouse Hugs and Love
